i am interested in casting parts. just as extra grenades, swords, quivers and such. that would be awesome. I've tried to cast on my own but i can't seem to get a good mold to work. i would buy a casting dvd in a heartbeat
I would love to see how to cast. I would love to make an army of beakies to be honest, but I don't want to break the bank, plus you can never have enough power fists. I have casted things with green stuff and had good results but green stuff is expensive (Gw's green stuff not mini war gamings). I dont know if I would cast a model completly, mostly just bits
I like the idea of having a tutorial of casting that would be for what I create, but I am concerned about what other people would use it for - regardless of what you think of GW, copyright rules are there for a reason. How would you like for me to take my Let's Paint DVDs and make copies to distribute to my friends because they "say" they can't afford them? I would never do it, but, let's be honest, it would probably upset you.
Being a cheap asian college student who's just gotten into painting/gaming (more painting; haven't really tried the gaming yet, haven't got enough money to field even 1500 pt yet), I'd definitely be interested in learning about this. And by "interested" I mean "really" interested. And by "really" I mean I'd punch someone for it.
dude thats copy right and also if you are doing that the money is not going back into the comunity and its rants like this that make smaller companys go out of bussiniues and it makes gw lose more mony and then have price rises so no its a terriable idea !!!
Since you are cleaning models, my most valuable tools I have are a set of detal tools my dentist gave me for free. There are 3 of them of different sizes and are great for removing those pesky lines around fingers, fists, weapon handles, etc.
I don't know about new / in production stuff, but old "can only find on eBay" stuff then sure I would. If you put up how to do this I would be pleased.
Im quite low on money and figures today cost so much
Im also interested in making my own figures ,custom figures, even though I might have to look somewhere else for making a custom cast but I would like to know what materials to use.

I'm definitely OCD on a certain level. I hear you on how it can take hours to assemble minis if you obsess about it.... I do it all the time XD
BTW the art of making mixtapes is not lost.
On to part 4 =D

sorry for a second post but i should have added this into the other one haha.
I'm going to be doing a full space marine chapter soon (thats over 1,000 models!!) so learning how to cast properly would be extreamely helpful to me.
I have a question for you Chris, are you planning to re design the covers of the previous DVD's?
cardinalvengen 2 years ago
The old covers will not be redesigned, at least not any time soon. The new covers will be on everything that comes out from now on though.

sometimes i try to cast little bits like swords and legs into green stuff but most of the time the quality of the detail is lost.
So yes i would love to learn how to cast models.
