You know its hard to out do, the origanal version of a Hit. You have a better chance if you make it sound Good and Different! Like Jade, and Tisha/Tichina
I just love this version of Don't Ask My Neighbor, I love it, I love it, I love it and I can't help but play it over and over again. What a superb job.
I love Brownstone and this version, although they sang it well, lacks the luster and overall emotion of the original and the version created by Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold. In fact, I like the T.C. and T.A. version better than the original, which I wasn't expecting before listening to it. Brownstone could have done so much more with the background vocals to really beef it up. I'm still a fan, but must admit that I am disappointed in their effort to revive a beautiful R&B classic.
Here in Britain Sheila Hylton had a reggae hit with it in the 70s...the best I have ever heard.... but not on youtube...try keep your eye out for it.
They sound good singing but it sounds flat because they need to bring out the wind sections the trumpets and the saxophones is what made this song send shivers down your spine
I llike brownstone a lot and I know they killed If You Play Your Cards Rigt as a remake but this shyt is weak flat out. The Emotions killllll this hands down completely!
I think the girl group JADE sing it better and on their LIVE album they sing it in concert WOW Mariah/Whitney wishes they could sing that good - trust me and check them out
The vocal gymnastics are unbelievable but not overkill
you know how u sometimes have a song re-done and the person or group mess'es it up.. well in this case they did a great job. i listen to this version more than the original. what a group i hope they come back soon.

Yal should hear Bobby Caldwell's version of this song, it has a more jazzy flavour to it.

The best version of this song for me is Tchina Arnold & Tisha Campbell-Martin's version from the 1997 Warner Brothers film soundtrack "Sprung"
