@TheGrIgOrI5 Camtasia studio 7. And no. If you do an upgrade install from windows vista, everything will be left where it is. If you do a custom install, ALL of your old files and folders will be saved in a folder called windows.old on your primary hard drive. So if your primary hard drive was C, you could find all of your old files at C: \ Window.old \ . I hope that helps.

@Johnlery1321 If you download it, no. If you install it, technically, no. If you upgrade from vista, none of your files will be moved.  If you do a clean install, then everything will be moved to a folder called "windows.old". If you do a clean install, you can still recover all of your files. However, just to be safe, you should probably back everything up first before you proceed.

RC1: Release Candidate.

RTM: Release To Manufacturing.

RTM is sold in stores currently. The RC1 had the possibility to make it to stores. It is actually possible that the RC1 and RTM are the same, depending on which release candidate they chose. For the most part, there is no noticeable difference. If you are unsure, choose the RTM. The only reason i left the RC1 link is for the more technically advanced people who noticed a difference between the RC1 and the RTM and prefer the RC1.

Yes, that is possible. When you run through the installation, it will first ask you which disk you would like to install Windows 7 on. After that, if you do have partitions, as you do, it will ask you which partition to install Windows 7 on. Then choose the partition that has the system files on it. All of the files on the other partition will be left intact.

DVD burners and hard drives are very different things. If you do not have a DVD burner, you have a few options. One would be to burn the DVD at a friends house. Another option would be to transfer the files to a flash drive, which is a little more difficult and time consuming. Google "Install windows 7 from USB". You should find the instructions needed. I may make a tutorial about that soon, as spring break just began.

RC1 is the first release candidate and is the full version, but not the version that was released to manufacturing (RTM). The real RTM also has a link. Both can be activated using the method in another video of mine. The question is just whether you want the RC or the RTM. If you really don't know what to choose, pick the RTM.

That has some truth to it. They both definitely have their advantages. Macs rarely get viruses, and are more entertainment oriented. PC's on the other hand, are more business oriented and are much cheaper. The reason most people have PC's is because of their price.  I actually don't think that Mac OS X is any faster than Windows 7. If you were to run Windows 7 on a machine with the exact same capabilities as a mac (recourse wise), i believe that their performances would be quite similar.

XP far surpasses Vista, but 7 tops them all. Based on speed alone, 7 trumps the rest. Also, 7 has a beautiful GUI and new features worth using. I recommend using Windows 7.

I think once you try windows 7, you will never want to go pack to your previous operating system, unless it was Snow Leopard, so just overwrite your previous operating system. So the answer to your question would be no.

Both are permanent once you install them, but you always have the option of installing a different Operating System. I would install the RTM because that is the version without an expiration date. RTM mean Release To Manufacturing, which means it is the version you will see in stores. RC Means Release Candidate, which is one of the couple versions that they have planned to be the RTM. However, the RC does have an expiration date, and there are probably a few bugs also.

Yes. Just be sure to rescue any files you may want to keep from there. Just right click on the folder(s) and delete them. If any warning messages appear about system files, just ignore them and continue. They are very important system files, although they are no longer in use because you upgraded the operating system. So, long answer short,

It depends if you are planning on doing an upgrade install or clean install. If you want to upgrade, you have to have vista right now, and you need to mount the iso image and run the installation to upgrade. If you want to do a clean install, burn the iso image to a DVD, and boot from the DVD, then install and you are good to go. If you do a clean install, all of your old files will be saved in a folder called 'Windows.old' so you can grab all the old stuff you wanted to keep out of there.

what you will have to do is change your languange on vista to english, then do the upgrade install, then once Windows 7 is installed, use windows update to download the danish language pack, and you can then switch back to your primary language.

That is why you are getting the choice between the two operating systems. Both are still there. You can edit the MBR and remove an entry if you like, though it is slightly risky. I used to have a nice utility with a GUI that i used before when i ran into a problem, but i can't find it right now. I am looking online right now and will let you know when i find the name of the utility.

Try this:

1. Go to "Change Settings"

2. Change "Default OS:" to Windows 7

3. Change "Bootloader Timeout:" to 0.

This should make it so there is no delay and it automatically goes to Windows 7. Let me know how this works out for you.
