Ya know, I've been a Blink 182 fan for like, ten years, and I've never heard that before. I always read that he bailed because he just wasn't into it anymore. He ditched them at a show on one of their first tours (maybe the second?) and they had to get Travis to fill in, and he just became a permanent fixture.
Idk though. Scott was awesome but Travis is most definitely a kick ass drummer.

I remember the first time I hung out with people at a grateful dead themed bar in long island.. i was probably 16. i remember thinking "these people are all so nice. i don't have to worry or be anxious". and then i started going to phish shows..
i toured with phish on and off for years.. it really opened my eyes to the world on different levels. realistic, practical levels, and spiritual, metaphorical levels. and like i said, for the most part like 99% of those people are really nice. I'm a musician, so that was a big part of it as well. great music.

well I play punk rock in my band. And it didn't take much for me to learn, But i guess you're right, but it's obvious punk is nowhere near as difficult as jazz or heavy metal drumming (sometimes).
i agree with you on heavy metal drumming big time, but jazz and punk have something a little in common, they are both based on improv and rebellion, i have heard some truly remarkable jazz pieces, but punk still takes it... staying in time and doing different fills every loop out of mind and not from a book is incredibly difficult, and yeah tiring.
but im not sure now youve mentioned heavy metal... some of that fucking double bass shit they do... my legs would fall off in 10 seconds lol

no prob. how old are you? you remind me of myself when I was younger.. i was so in a bad space in high school.. i listened to old blink all the time.. i was obsessed. i played out scenes in my head to the lyrics and overanalyzed everything. I haven't listened to any blink in years. i don't know why but i decided to listen to some today. enthused was always one of my favorites. but honestly, listening to this stuff reminds me of how depressed i was and makes me feel sick.. it's weird

im actually 23 mate. i had a very slow start in life, i was coddled because i was a cute kid and now i find it hard to do anything for myself. i still go through teenage troubles and probably will until im mid 20s. overanalysing is a huge problem for me. to me in my head its just analysing its just how my brain chooses to work if i could get a leash around the fucker id make things much easier for myself. i recently lost all my friends because i quit smoking weed and chose to avoid it. bad times

well, I'm not over all of my problems, not even close. It took years of therapy and living life to grow and figure myself out. i had an awful childhood. believe it or not, what helped me was hanging out with hippy people. I remember the first time I hung out with people at a grateful dead themed bar in long island.. i was probably 16. i remember thinking "these people are all so nice. i don't have to worry or be anxious". and then i started going to phish shows..

i toured with phish on and off for years.. it really opened my eyes to the world on different levels. realistic, practical levels, and spiritual, metaphorical levels. and like i said, for the most part like 99% of those people are really nice. I'm a musician, so that was a big part of it as well. great music.

i dnt know why every1 says all this crap about scott, mark and tom came up with tunes that required the same beat, my cousin plays drums and he has done alot of covers of blink, he has tried to come with different beats for scotts songs and its kinda hard. and plus mark duz the same thing as scott, he duz the same tune for every song u just cant hear it and he occasionally changes the tune. scott does the different beats for songs too

This is how i see it ... Travis brings more diverse styles of drumming to blink why Scott sticks with punk drumming ... imo blink wouldn't as been as big but they woulda been more punk verse pop ... you can see from enema to toypaj and self titled that their style goes through changes ... I like em both ... they are both talented ... its just scott liked the bottle a little more than the music

well I play punk rock in my band. And it didn't take much for me to learn, But i guess you're right, but it's obvious punk is nowhere near as difficult as jazz or heavy metal drumming (sometimes).
the hardest part is trying to be diverse.

i agree with you on heavy metal drumming big time, but jazz and punk have something a little in common, they are both based on improv and rebellion, i have heard some truly remarkable jazz pieces, but punk still takes it... staying in time and doing different fills every loop out of mind and not from a book is incredibly difficult, and yeah tiring.
but im not sure now youve mentioned heavy metal... some of that fucking double bass shit they do... my legs would fall off in 10 seconds lol
