I don't think people realize that this guy isn't just happy with the things he's done. He talks about pain, he talks about being addicted to killing, he talks describes many different emotions going through his head, but they aren't really emotions any of us can relate to. He completely lacks the conscience to do better things. Personality disorders are difficult to pathologize even for psychologists because the personality is a part of your essence as an individual.

They may be dignosed as sociopaths with varying degrees. A sociopath is not a psychopath. They carry different character traits.

Depending on where you were trained, there actually is a difference between sociopath and psychopath. Sociopath is a term that focuses more on the behavioral aspects of the person. Psychopath is a term that should be used when you're focusing on the defect in character...the lack of conscience, remorse, etc. In order to be diagnosed with Antisocial Personality Disorder, it is NOT necessary to lack a conscience or remorse for your actions. But in psychopathy, these things need to be in place.

Definite psychopath. The people that tend to argue these things are drawing their conclusions from television and pop culture. In fact, the word sociopath has been slowly disappearing in the psychological community because its basically a euphemism. Im sure Criminal Minds and other shows misuse the word sociopath, but there really isn't a difference. Also, there is no specific M.O. for psychopathic killings. Non-psychopaths can kill brutally. Sometimes psychopaths can kill quickly and without torture. Just depends on the type of impulse.
