These very important stage presence tips are what make bands like Green Day famous. I mean, Green Day is not overly complicated at all, 4 chords, simple solo, and you're good. Yet they have an amazing fan-base, and it's all about their presence, Billy is all over the place! I mean on stage of course, because despite individual opinions about the band itself, they make good lyrics and are definitely more famous than the haters. (I don't like green day much, but they are a good band)

i think anyone who actually has to get tips on how to have good stage presence is looking at it the wrong way. i would say that you need to think about two things:

1. if you're not playing in a band that gets you excited to play or makes you want to move, you're either playing really chill music or not playing music you really like.

2. stage presence isn't about choreography. the worst thing you could do is follow this video's tips because it wouldn't be believable. just be yourself

I play in a band (and i like the music we play ;-) ) and I think, the most important point is to be confident. Our best perfomances happened, when we played the music for ourselfes and just freaked out on stage, and the people really liked it. Band's that just stand or sit on stage and give you the impression, that they just make this gig for money and not for the music, really suck. You don't have to make a choreography, but you should show your energy :)

@FreundTod i almost 100% agree with you. the only thing i don't agree on is that you should ALWAYS move around and "freak out" etc. for some people, it would be weird AND feels really weird to dance around and/or freak out, so those people would be faking it if they did it and then it would be really stupid imo. i like to dance when i play, but my bassist likes to just bob his head a bit. this is ok though because he isn't bored, he's just (as he says) "keeping the rhythm"

As much as this stuff may sound like utter and complete wanker crap to some people. Good stage presence is just as important as your sound and your performance. God knows how many times I have seen the countless bands that stand around on stage looking dull and the singer (while having an ok or great voice) just stand with a microphone in their hand. It's boring, you don't necessarily have to move like he does, you just let the music and your movements do your thing. It gets noticed if done well
