@khyrra She was 3 when she moved so she would have a Canadian accent and have to fake a British accent. However, the American British accent is heard even on British actors because directors think that American audiences expect their Brits to sound a particular way. An Essex accent would sound totally different to most anyone you've heard on screen over there.

Also, there's no such thing as a "British accent" it varies all over the country and even within a city.
