Duddleys,Dixie Chicken--and grew to appreciate good ole Texas Country.(from NE, now). REK and Lyle Lovett were just out the back door of Duddley's on Church St. and never knew it. A good friend of mine there at the time was dating Lisa Boyett. Jack Boyett was her grandfather. "Front Porch Song".

Here recently I was doing some farming in the Philippines. I got so homesick that hearing this song gave me comfort. I would sit on my porch over there drink my San Miguel Pale beer and listen to it over and over again and just cry like a baby. The locals couldn't understand how much I missed Texas. Finally an old woman told me in Bisaya (there language) she said " I sure wish I could see this Texas you cry for" I told her if she could understand the song she could see the Texas. She smiled
