I have a 9 month old BGM, I recently brought home another BGM that is 7 weeks old, I felt he needed a companion his size (we also have a GCC and Cockatiel) and the older one has insisted on being the primary caregiver for the baby! It is amazing to see the instant bond they had.
I take care of a bird that tries to feed me from time to time. I yawned once and she crawled up my shirt and reached into my mouth. x3 She'll also grab my finger and do that feeding motion.
It is so wonderful that they have each other. Since they have to be in captivity (at this point), at least they have their feathered companion. It is wonderful what y'all do for these birds. All the same, I'm sure a human can't replace the companionship another bird supplies. Thank you for all you do, and for sharing. Ann
Oh yes! No matter how much we love them and care, there can still be no replacement for a feathered friend/companion. It is such a shame that your last statement is so very true.

@chihuahuabulldog No I don't think that birds are ever fooled by the fact that we are human. The do know how much bigger we are.
They are just being submissive. Eventually they may accept us as a member of their flock, but they are never fooled.
I think its just their way of coping with a life they have no control.

You do not put a nest box in the cage where they can sit on eggs.
I leave them to live happily otherwise. Although we still spend a lot of time with them.
