Big Wreck was huge in Canada before Nickelback ever came along, and if it wasn't for the break-up of Big Wreck, Thornley wouldn't exist. Even without the help of Chad Kroeger of Nickelback, they could've been signed on to a label anyways.

Thornley is refreshing in that most of their songs are not just the generic rock formula. They are original and have melodies/lyrics unlike other songs.

Only Theory of a Deadman can be dismissed as generic nickelback..

Ian Thornley recorded all guitars down on the record including lead and rhythm guitar as well as bass guitar. Daniel Adair, drummer from Canadian rock band Nickelback, provided drums on the album. Chad Kroeger, also of Nickelback, co-wrote a track on the album with Ian Thornley.

Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top worked and sang on Nicklebacks album and as a huge ZZ fan I would not say that they sounded like ZZ Top. Get a clue!
