Where the hell did you get those figures from? Both have 210 BHP as they both use the same engine. The Scirocco does 0-62 mph in 6.2, Golf because it's heavier in 6.5. Max Speed (both limited to 155.

they only used the 200ps in the scirocco on the 2009 model...

i own a 2010 scirocco and it is the same engine as the GTI MK6 210...

but i'm sure i can take any GTI :-P

The Golf is faster because it has a better drag coefficient..0,31 compared to 0,34 of the Scirocco which is similar to a Golf mk2 LOL

@kamilpolniak ... Muscle cars can be entertaining. However, I love hot hatches. We probably will never see the Scirocco here, but hopefully, VW will bring over the Golf R. I'd rather have the Scirocco R, but the Golf is better than nothing.

@kamilpolniak I drive an MKIV GTI and have had/LOVED 4 SCIROCCO's. However, for about the same price as an MKVI GTI, the new V6 Mustang puts out over 300HP and gets over 30 MPG, and the 412HP V8's are getting almost 25 MPG. I'm sorry my friend but, with all due respect, American Muscle cars don't think they are so great, they KNOW THEY ARE - it's a different Detroit now. However, if VWNA brings it here and redesigns it to look like a SCIROCCO and not a Civic, I don't think I could resist.

@Driftuner You also get 100+ more horsepower in the Mustang, its a sports car. The GTI is just a sportier version of a Golf. And don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing the GTI. My next car is the GTI, I love it.

the Scirocco is coming to the US but the actual arrival is later than expected. The new plant in Chatanooga Tn. is going to build the car, but VW should be importing them over here before then since the plant will not be finished untill 2012.

actually no, there are a few new materials used in the engine and engine remap. thats why further mapping will give more power than the older one.

Depends on taste. In my opinion Scirocco is the best looking VW they've made over 20 years. Good exaust, drive and acceleration. Awesome design.

Golf 6 GTI is seems to be more practical than Scirocco. You have sports results, great exaust but you can take a family and children on board;)

Zależy od gustu. Według mnie to najlepszy VW od ponad 20 lat. Świetny wydech, prowadzenie i przyśpieszenie. Niezły wygląd. Golf GTI wydaję się być bardziej praktyczny. Masz sportowe osiągi, ale może zabrać nim rodzinę i dzieciaki :)
