  • One more thought...tent pegs...the small ones like vargo ti pegs etc could help stabilize it...could put them in the holes of the l brackets..

  • @anubis1335 Good idea!

  • You could always weigh those legs down w someting...shooters rest/sandbags are the first thing that comes to mymind...sorry for multi post

  • Another great vid man! I think if you are worried about heating issues, the keg would melt before the pipe would...right? Killer project! Thanks for another great vid!

  • nice work...they are a pain to build is right....lol....i built mine for backpacking and heating a tent...so i did the horizontal design then tried to lighten it.....and boy does it heat,lol...i used as much aluminum as i could and the chimney tee is a pain but all in all works well...nice job on the stove.

  • @sousaville Sousa and in John P? Anyway how did the horizontal do for length of heat? My one concern is that you can't fit a huge amount of wood in there. How did you end up doing the chimney? Did you include the possibility of cooking in your design? I'm seriously curious here. I'm gonna throw a party just so I can drain another of these kegs.

  • @averageiowaglol..yeah as in John P.horiz fits more wood ,IMO,vert let ash and wood fall out..horiz you can stack as high as you want.i did put a tray on top its heats great and brings water up to below a boil temp...but it can be configured better for cooking....but if weight is no concern you can add a couple of pipes to the side and boil alot of water....i have a playlist with the t build in it.l beer can chimney and thru the tent design.had my 3 person tent up to 126* F

  • @sousaville Thanks a TON for that info. I subbed. I'm gonna watch your stuff. That will help me along tremendously. I wonder why your vids weren't showing up on the search function?

  • @averageiowaguy i subbed you also.......i may have not tagged it right ..gonna go look...alright ttys

  • good job man

  • "Welcome to my silence of the lambs style basement..." LMAO! AWESOME video man! Excellent! Cant wait to try and make one! Thanks so much!

  • @averageiowaguy Wow, thats strange. Polartec wind pro is known for it's wind stopping abilities. Mine has proven to be very wind and water resistant in the field.

The pockets have a higher position because they are designed still be accessable with a pack or chest rig on. I find myself stowing gear i would usually keep in my pants pockets in the jacket and then using the pants pockets to keep my hands warm.

  • Oh darn. I wanted to see more smoke puffin outta da chimney...

    Trick stove!

Since I have the Zoom Versa & the Deadwood stove, I'm fixed in the fun little wood burning stoves arena.

Oh, don't want to slight my Oklahoma Joe Smoker.

But that Heineken Mini Keg has mega coolness.

My neighbor will drink the beer & I think because it's so cool, I'd like to use the keg to set my Trangia inside.

    The modifications= minimal.

About like "edwdixons" Jim Beam bottle. Yeah...

  • @Tankdriver100 Yeah I'm gonna be the king of tailgating this coming year. Not only will I have heat, but it will be coming from a cool source.

  • @averageiowaguy I wonder how well wood pellets wood do ya in the keg...

A 13 oz. Hormel beef or 13 oz. chicken can to hold the pellets.

Star burst hole pattern in the can bottom should be enough air.

    Those pellets smell good too.

    Just sayin....

  • @Tankdriver100 I'm gonna try that. I've never used wood pellets before. Usually I just use stuff that's fallen down in the yard. I have a lot of trees.

  • Another good video. I was drinking Jim Beam and realized I could turn the bottle into a vase for a single flower. The modifications were pretty minimal.

  • @edwdixon5 LOL!

  • Another cool video!Should you decide to go into mass production of this stove,I'll help drink the beer.Dang, I wish Chimay blue came in kegs. Thanks!

  • @propblast82nd Agreed. Any of the Belgian Trappist ales are pretty amazing. Rochefort 10 is my favorite. Hard to find though.

  • Very Cool...

My to do list for next weekend:

    1. buy Heineken mini keg Friday after work

    2. consume contents of mini keg Friday night

    3. sleep off hangover all day Saturday

    4. build killer awesome wood stove on Sunday

    5. brag about how much I accomplished this weekend to co-workers on Monday

  • Freaking cool build brother!

  • Great project I built one last year and had a lot of fun doing so. Mine was on its side and I used an aluminum stove pipe that ended up melting. The only improvement I can suggest is a larger stove pipe you may not be getting enough air flow with only a 1 inch pipe.

Thanks and keep us informed if you make any updates.

  • @digitizer101 I'm thinking of building an on the side one and flattening the top. On the side would have more room for wood.
