How does make her music notes sound so light? They are not airy or deep, but light and comes out of the ocarina nicely. I just can't manage to do that with my ocarina. Mines plastic (alto) and it has very dull (sorry I cannot think of a better word) notes ... is it the material that matters with the sound being different?

@Firemalleoandjelly The material does matter a bit. The ocarina is based on resonance, and plastic does not resonate well, so, the notes come flat and dull. Metal has a slight ring to it, as does ceramic (although the ring is different). I play a ceramic ocarina and have not yet played one made of metal, but yes, different materials will play differently.

The material doesn't matter. The sound quality depends on the structuring of the mouthpiece- it is hard for the mouthpiece of the plastics to be as good as the clay ones.

@sirmicro My dick. (Ocarinas sound differently, widely vary in shape and range, are made with different materials, and have holes in comparison to keys). Well, the really REALLY big ocarina has keys, but it's an exception. Only some giant would be able to play that if it had holes.

@Nikanaiko I wouldn't recommend it. It depends on how much music experience you have, though. :3

I started with a six-hole pendant ocarina, which was very useful for just learning. Plus, pendant ocarinas are usually cheaper than other ocarinas.
