Sometimes the equipment malfunctions, a bolt is loose, or you are under the pressure to calculate the landing zone of that mortar, which is well over a mile away, over a mountain, where you can't see, and need to do it now before the men that called for your support are killed off by overwhelming enemy forces. sometimes men forget simple thing.

Sometimes the equipment malfunctions, a bolt is loose, or you are under the pressure to calculate the landing zone of that mortar, which is well over a mile away, over a mountain, where you can't see, and need to do it now before the men that called for your support are killed off by overwhelming enemy forces. sometimes men forget simple thing.
These men have people trying to kill them on a daily basis. it kind of is really hard.

That's not true. That mortar team only has Map and radio. The modern United States army still used primarily map and radio. Even when GPS is available, it makes very little difference. I've done it.
