  • It's still an amazing piece of video!! --j--

  • It's still an amazing piece of video!! --j--

  • So beautiful.

  • Much of Californias ecosystem has thrived on fire for a long time. Now that a lot of houses and other domestic resources are being set up, for their protection its imperative that the fires get put out, but the longer fire is postponed, the more fuel buildup there is leading to more intense fires that are harder to suppress. That combined with drought, weather, and catalyst factors can lead to a real mess.

  • WOW this is amazing video very nice

  • WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

  • Very cool video:) Thx for subbing!

  • Those were the scary days. Hopefully we won't flood today. I'll upload a video response to show you the burn area today :)

    Twink!

  • I love all of the people using their flash while trying to take pictures of this. They probably got jack squat.

  • beautiful and terrifying..thanks!

  • HAHAHA i like how no one is whining about global warming to this.. sigh

too bad forest fires are all natural (or used to be)

and dont forget guys.. volcanos are worse! =]

other than that, cool video, i like the fast forward thing. traffic never stops =]

  • yeah i pretty much live around 4 volcanoes 2 of which are active

  • There is nothing natural about a forest fire in Southern California 9 time out of 10 it is started by some jackass arson.

  • @gordonthefree17 Way to say it. They should throw these stupid shitholes in jail for life.

  • MORDOR !!!!! LOTR !!!! LOL !!!

  • Though this is certainly troublesome, it reminds me of something Johnny Carson once said. By that time he had already retired from TV. So during Late Show David Letterman called him up at his house and asked "How are things out in California?" And with that quick wit of his he replied " Great! The mudslides are putting out the Wild fires". RIP Johnny.

  • wow

  • yea i was exactly down wind from that here in the antelope valley near Palmdale so we had ash coming down everywhere for about a week!

    that fire was horrible!

  • co calirfonia!!!!! GO CALIFONIA FIREFIGHTERS!!!!!!

  • Artists see disasters as opportunities :)

  • Super great job!

  • Who was the one that set the camera for so many hours ?

  • As the days grew darker, Mordor grew in strength.

  • Omg this is amazing! Horrible but amazing!

  • Looks like the apocolypse if you ask me.

  • That wasn't smoke..

    it was my gas....

sorry, i had beans those past few days/weeks

  • i bet this fire still wont stop people from partying!!

  • California, Knows How To Party. Ah shit Snoop dropped his blunt again. Hey the Uni Bomber is pickin up a new hobby. Holly Hood. Arnold went on a two hour break an look wat happens. Hey...I think I forgot to turn the oven off. Someone took Forgot About Dre Too Seriously. XD

  • Can we all wake up now?The Socal fires of summer 2009 were the work of Jihadis using paid illegals or local sleepers. They wiped out a large piece of the landscape, wrecked the health of many, and destroyed lives and property just as in 911.They found a soft target.

  • you're an ignorant piece of shit who has been filled with propaganda.

  • bhogala get back on yer fistacycle and pack ya self full.

  • Thanks for having the good taste not to adorn this with dramatic music like 99% of the other videos about the fire. The footage is incredible by itself and it's more haunting silent.

  • Nice capture!

  • Wow! Great photography! I hope the arsonists/terrorists/murderers are caught and brought to justice.

  • HAPPY CHRISTMAS WILD FIRE

  • hindi tau pababayaan ni BRO

Bro tulongan mo yung mangga fire station na mamatay na ung apoy

at sana bro palakasin mo pa ung apoy para masaya ung apoy

    HeHeHe

  • You fucking idiot.........x0x0markox0x0

putang Ina mo..Tanga...putang Ina mo...Booger brain. This idiot is wishing the fire to spread more.

  • You are with them.Or maybe one of them already, perhaps.Anyway rot in hell Carlos you hijo de puta.

  • i wish all of you could taste my flavor.

  • Cool video!

  • Dude i started school three days late cause of this fire and was evacuated three times

  • is there ever a time when Cali is NOT on fire?

  • You act as if fires only existed in Califronia. What about all those houses that go on fire in the city? How about the fire arsonists commit?

  • i do not recall saying or even insinuating any such thing. There was a wild fire in Myrtle Beach, SC last summer, but that is the only time in 40 yrs I have heard of a wild fire happening in this region - not to say it hasn't happened ...but it surely doesn't happen every summer.

  • try in the last ten years in this part wilmington had a fire about ten years ago on my land where they took water from my neighbour fishing pond just to put the fire out. Don't try to know everything about this region when you don't look it up first.

  • Well Devinsplace, How many acres got burned? How long was it out of control? How many billions in damage? When the west coast catches fire, anywhere from 5%-25% of the entire west coast is in flames and you wright me back saying your backyard was on fire? What... 1,000 of 1% of the east coast? Although I lived in Wilmington,NC 2 years before you were born, doesn't mean I know your neighborhood caught on fire. BTW, before trying to make an ass out of people, try spelling "neighbor" correctly.

  • totally awsome

  • It looks like mordor

  • Who cares! Your governor will save you.

  • Glad they have it under control now.

  • I live in Orange County, I hope it doesnt get close!

  • Awesome time lapse. Beautiful, but so destructive! My heart goes out to the families and friends of the two firefighters killed, and all the folks temporarily and permanently displaced by the fire.

  • wow tht fire is pretty big soo

  • Who would think pure destruction could be so beautiful

  • I strongly agree with you. I was defamed and marked as spam for saying the Atomic bomb was beautiful and God like, because of the halo around the mushroom cloud.

  • A atomic bomb explosion is only beautiful if one is NOT within the explosion. Everything is relative, you know ?

  • I storngly disagree with being marked as spam for saying anything at all on youtube. even if you think what someone says is stupid or offensive, we should be able to say it. it just seems to go against the spirit of the Internet and the age of info. to censor anthing anyone has to say. and yeah, the beauty of the A bomb is a terrible irony.

  • The beauty of the internet is that you can make your own website and say whatever you want, however YouTube has the right to moderate its website as it sees fit. Youtube isn't censoring the web, they're censoring their own website that they allow you to use.

  • I live in orange county..

Earthquakes, fires, extreme heat, long droughts, smog, traffic, landslides, and everything here is expensive, but hey, fuck it, I'm living my life in the place with the nicest weather in the world! And I'm having fun, these fires are just part of living here, sometimes u don't even care

  • yea, so cal is the shit

  • Most of the things you said are weather or affect it negatively.

  • LA County, Im in the sanfernando valley and i pretty much agree, its all worth it in the end. I love it here.

  • im sure there is better weather elsewhere and without all that crap :p

  • that is so sick! the clouds look like explosions :o

  • u know the perfect song for this movie is by 900ft Jesus While the city Sleeps.

does anyone know how it got started that looks terrible! I just hope everyone got out alive... if not i will pray for thier families.

  • So far I know 2 firefighters died, and alot of houses and buildings have been destoyed. Right now they are trying to prevent it from knocking out a whole bunch of TV and radio towers that are right near the fire. and the smoke is getting real bad. I went shopping one morning and I had to hold my breath to get from the car to the door. and I was only a few miles away! luckily, it was only that bad one morning....so far.

  • I live in La Puente which is several miles from this fire. The ashes are floating everywhere. On the cars its all full of ashes. And from my college Mt. San Antonio College, Last Wednesday I saw a huge cloud just over the mountain... While driving on the 60 freeway, I actually saw the red fire of the night sky. At first i really didnt pay much attention to it, but having seen those flames in person... Im scared now. I just hope they can take it out before It damages more of our City!!!!!

  • depends on what city ur talking about. LA, nope wind is blowing north. Cities north of LA, such as palmdale, california, edwards, we're getting all the smoke

how do I know this? im in one of those cities, and sports practicies are mostly canceled because hazardous practicing conditions. it was literally raining ash yesterday at my school

  • Dude thats so close to LA. wouldn't that be horrible if it just started burning down LA

  • thats so amusing no seriously that is extremley fucking cool, just the whole idea of it is amazing i make fires every day wit my magnifying glass and to me this is just incredible..

  • Its amazing. I heard the wildfires were big and spreading, but this is just crazy huge. God Bless the poor souls out there.

  • i think an oblivion gate just opened

  • omg thats so bad D:

i wonder how bad Australia's gonna get?

our summers coming soon and last time it came the fires killed lots of people.

  • i heard after the malibu fire in 1993(?) they found a body in the mountains in full scuba gear...

dumped there by a super scooper airplane

  • Awesome timelapse Bill!

We were driving home Sat nite & saw the fires in the foothills from the 101.

  • A massive Damage to our Ozone Layer

  • fucked up shit ...

  • beautiful disaster

  • A fire gets its name generally from the first Units on scene and is normally a nearby landmark of the Fires Ignition Point

  • Can someone please tell me why this is called the "Station Fire" ? What "station" does it relate to, if any? My mind wants to reverse the words and change it to the "Fire station" for some odd reason...

  • Named for Chilao Ranger Station, where it started.

  • that was krazy!!

  • I live in Arizona and its been cloudier than usual but I'm not sure if the fire is responsible

  • Los Angeles is the portal to hell.

  • lol its hell on earth

  • LOOKS Like that one Place In LORD OF THE RINGS !!! IDK what it was called LOL

  • Mordor lol

  • Looks like the worlds on fire

  • :O LA is hell atm

  • I wanted to see it go away. =[

  • what direction is it moving in??? towards hollywood?? ohh it better not..that will be like the end of the world for some people...

  • damn thats scary...looks like some middle earth shit

  • Dude, this is crazy... 8 /

  • Waweasome

  • beautiful scene :)

  • Beautiful :)

  • sweeett

  • MORDOR

  • poor squirrels :(

  • how did the fire start?

  • They don't know. But they think it was started by somebody.

  • good thing i live in new york, we just have to worry about planes crashing into stuff :D

  • lol good luck with that! did you see 9/11 before the building hit the ground in person?

  • school canceled =) thanks to this fires

  • Great vid....

  • grrrrr i am so sick of this fire

the smoke that is coming out of it is freeking everyone out

i really wish that i didnt live like 5 mins away from the fire

  • holy crap

  • this smoke is all the way over here in colorado. it finally started 2 clear up 2day.

  • Wow that looks bad!!!!Poor hills.

  • Holy Shit Dude!

  • LA paired with... mordor

  • All the best things come from the northern states, including the best movies(Dark Knight, public enemies) , we make the best products up here, like almost all the country's beer and milk, tons of great dairy products (california cows suck), we are home to Microsoft, home to GE, all tthe car companies, we've got the best amusment parks. You wouldn't last very long without us, and especialy our beer.

  • I see. Haven't been to any of the northern amusement parks. Which ones should I see. Obviously Disneyland/World etc. are crap.

  • Well they're all over hte place up here, New Jersey has the world's fastest, we've got the first steel coaster in oho at a park that has quite a few other record setters. there is one over in idaho I believe or somwhere around there that has the world's biggest wooden coaster. I think the reason behind it is that their working seasons are shorter than in the south so we have to get the biggest rides to attract the most people in the time that they're still open.

  • it's not suppose to be contained till September 15th at the earliest...I live in Pasadena CA and i can see the flames at night

  • I go to PCC, and I hate the air quality because of these fires, I cant even imagine how it must be to live by the fires.

  • man that is so cool yet very messed up at the same time

  • I live about 40 miles away and could see this at night. It was a bit un-nerving to see huge plumes of fire from so far away!

  • I don't get it is this a fire or a volcano eruption or what? What's "station fire" anyway?

  • It's a fire in southern california; and station fire is just a name they gave it

  • Thats what's going to happen when u Feed the Bears

  • Fantastic job! For days the sky over LA has been filtering yellow-orangish sunlight down onto the city from all the smoke. This is why. Keep it up.

  • It's much bigger now

  • it's super sick, but i wish there was music

  • hell on earth.

  • this better not affect my flight into LAX in October. I heard it might.

  • they should have it contained by then.

  • No. It's a huge fire. You can't see most of the flames but go find out how much of it they've contined.

    My guess is below 80%

  • Nice job, looks cool, too bad its choking us lol

  • its a good video but i think xxSScobraSSx is right...

    thumbs up

  • Need to put some music to this homie
