This has been bothering me for a LONG LONG LONG time. I don't know why, but SOMETIMES, when i'm using Microsoft word, whenever I type something, or press space, the letter in front is deleted. WHAT DO I DO?? PLZ RESPOND! IT WOULD REALY HELP!

You press insert on your keyboard. This turns overwrite off/on depending on whether it is on or not. Then, when overwrite is off, it wont overwrite the next letter.

in page layouts, change the spacing before and after to zero, then on the home tab change the paragraph spacing option from 1.15 to 1.

people say vista is slow because when many people found out, they told everyone! You compare xp with vista therefore people would go with XP. I agree with with rockindoodcm's reply. It was so true that people said that XP sucked and 2000 was better at some point. Every new software is tested by some people to see if its good or if its garbage. Microsoft is ok, but they did say personally that Vista was a total diasaster.

First off, Open Office is NOT a clone. It's a community supported Office Productivity Suite.  Microsoft didn't invent the office suite.

There are reasons to use Microsoft Office, mostly as an act of submission to the great company Microsoft.

But, I use Open Office exclusively and I edit M$ Office documents fine. My computer is faster, I have zero license issues or costs, and I could list another dozen really good reasons to avoid installing M$ Office on your PC.

The totally blue layout seriously sucks; it's not pretty. I wanted to keep my pink theme, so I switched back to Office 2003. What a relief that was, especially getting away from the "ribbon" toolbar.

IMO Office XP was the best and ahere they should've left it.

It is the easiest and still functional.

What the hell was microsoft thinking.  Vista sucks and office 2007 sucks. I know technically it is my fault for not understanding some things about the new program but I can't stand it at all. Next computer I buy I will have to learn how to use a Mac, same as trying to learn vista or office 2007.

I'd just like to say officially, Office 2007 sucks ... absolutely ... it just lost my evenings work and the 'recover' didn't recover because of some 'unspecified error'. I'm going back to Office 2000-2003. It's all about 'look how gorgeous this Office 2007 is' ... bottom line is: it's wack. Don't buy it. Compatability mode my ass. I'm fed up (and looking elsewhere).

The student version I got is reasonable priced and the new UI is a definitely jump up from 2003. As soon as you learn where to find a few of the moved functions (mostly these are moved to a better, more logic place) your daily office work is actually improved. Love the new Charting engine throughout the suite and the speed I'm creating good looking reports and PMs. $120 here in Sweden for the Standard Student version btw.

we got ours for like $5 (mabey more) office 07 enterprise yes it is legal because we got it through the home use program and the disc says genuine on it is nice shiny letters
