I have had season tickets to aggie football games all of my life and i was only 10 when this play happened but i still vividly remember it...too bad we ended up loosing this game we were so close
This is one of the greatest runs in college football history...and I am a UGA fan! I will never forget the stunned look in the room when this play happened. I live in Ga. and one of my coworkers was from Texas and he knew jamar toombs and said he was a beast on the field his whole life.
by far one of, if the most overlooked and underrated college players ever. how he never went to the NFL is beyond me. i just wish he was still playin i LOVED watchin toombs
@mrbaseball5125 Dave South is so bad. Have you ever listened to an Aggie game on the radio when it's not on TV? I don't have a damn clue what is goin on in the game. He has his moments like in this clip, but as a whole, you might as well just read the box score in the paper the next day, because you will be so lost
If I remember, I recall Roy laying the Giants RB out at the 1 yard line and caused him to fumble like a year ago and that RB is the biggest in the NFL. SO.....
Well I remember him having shots at Jeremy Shockey and instead of laying him out he "chose" to act like he missed the tackle. Not to mention the chance he had to lay out Jerome Bettis in 04 which he "chose" to miss. He did lay out Richard Hunley though who is only 195.
All three Oklahoma defenders are going for the ball. Easy for a guy that big to romp that many yards when all he has to contend with are hands hanging onto his arms. That "great run" is purely a result of horrific defense.
Okay, but if you're a fan of another Big XII team, win a Big XII Championship sometime. We're running out of room in the trophy case for those ugly things.
maybe if we paid our players like yall do we could get the stud recruits. I'm surprised OU players turn pro early, because that would involve a pay cut.
No knock on Alstott , but he is no where near the runner Ja'Mar is/was. Ja'Mar is bigger faster and stronger. But Mike is a much better blocker and much better at catching passes out of the backfield.
I don't agree with that. Mike Alstott runs as hard as anybody I've ever seen. Sure Alstott may not be bigger than Toombs, but he has plenty of strength. Unfortunately, his hard running has hurt him.
And you are right Kilgore4sho, he has gotten into better shape and I commend him for that. I would like nothing more than to see him in the NFL.
I am not saying that Alstott was a bad runner at all . I just saw some tools in Ja Mar not too many had . He could have been the modern day Earl Cambell or Jim Brown. Too bad he will never grt another chance to prove himself in the NFL.
He plays AFL for the NY Dragons now. BUt he use to play for Dallas and San Jose. If he hadn't got into so much trouble he would be in the NFL. There is no power back in the league that runs as hard as he does.
Finally!!! I looked for this so many times, and I find it on Youtube. Thanks man. Jamar Toombs was one of my favorite RBs to watch, even though I am a HUGE Texas fan.

Sounds like a technical error on the part of the Oklahoma Sooners, a rare sight now a days. Gig'Em!

why don't you give toombs credit for a great run? typical oklahoma fan. and by the way, win a bowl game sometime soon.

Just move them over to the Bowl Game trophy case. You got plenty of space over there.

And I can think of one RB in recent years that ran as hard as Toombs did and that is Mike Alstott.
