Im 20 and i own ol calcutta as well, lol I own most of those on vhs or dvd, you know like the recordings of them on broadway, and whatever movie they made of them. Im from Oklahoma so they really dont come this way with national tours very often. Theres a place here called Dicovery Land that does Oklahoma! and 7 brides, its outdoors its amazing, much more fun !
When I went to Europe, I saw Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre in London. It's the only show I've seen, and I thought it was amazing. The costumes, etc. were awesome.
1. MY FAVORITE (Seen it 3 times on Broadway, once in Las Vegas) 2. Yes (twice as child) 3. Yes (twice on Broadway and twice at school plays) 5. Seen the movie. 6. Seen it at the Shubert and love the movie. 9. Movie. 12. Seen the movie/watched the show where they picked the characters. 13. Seen the movie/did it in 8th grade. 19. Saw the movie today. (Hated it) 21. Seen both movies and saw school play. 24. My school did it. (I didn't get the point) 25. Movie No interest in older ones.
Phantom of the Opera(movie version) Cats(own it. Never seen it) Beauty and the Beast(On stage(a crappy version and the movie)) The Lion King(I saw a shorter stage version and the movie) Grease(movie version duh) Fiddler on the Roof(Seen it on stage and the movie... I am about to be in it at my school. :D We have a cast of ten. No joke) The Producers(Seen both movies! The older one and the musical) Annie(seen the movie...) Oklahoma!(Seen it at my school... yeah) Hairspray(Movie version) 9/25
i've never seen anything on stage and i really really want to but ya know how that goes. maybe you don't but anyways i've seen a lot of them in movie form and my sister got to see the Lion King on stage and i was totally jealous
Ive seen 13, 3 of which were on broadway, lion king, beauty and the beast, and a chorus ling... and you're right... FIDDLER SUCKS!!! i walked out halfway through
i saw none of them but i have seen 1 broadway show! Legally Blonde im loved it so much its not even funny! But i know im gonna love 9 to 5 and wicked!
I have to say that I don't mind Cats, but I absolutly hate Annie. And the worst part is that the songs from Annie get stuck in my head all the time which just makes me hate it even more.
Never been to New York, so I've seen no shows on Broadway. Wah... But I've seen Lion King on stage in SF, part of Grease (I was late), and three different productions of Cabaret at local theaters. But in movie form I've seen:
RENT (I love RENT, and I'm dying to see it onstage, but it's closing)
Beauty and the Beast (Ages ago)
Lion King
Phantom of the Opera
Hairspray
The Producers (New movie, and scenes from the old one)
Beauty and the Beast: (local casting, the shorter thing they have at Disney World once or twice, and on ice...the ice one was a girl scout thing. Oh, and of course the original Disney movie.)
RENT: (Movie, touring company, and Broadway. Trying to get my mom to take me to next years tour.)
42nd Street: (local production which I was on the tech crew for)
Hi iam using my grandson's account and i came across this video and iv'e seen 23 out of 25, but i did originate the role of Miss Lynch in Grease, and I was Shelia in Chorus Line
I've seen(some I was in): Cats, Le Miz, Chorus Line Beauty & the Beast Rent (twice touring company, once on Broadway, also own the movie) Chicago (Broadway on may 12 of this year) 42nd Street (Broadway - Oct 6th 2001 also worked on the show) Grease (in it as Miss Lynch) Fiddler (in it) Hello Dolly My Fair Lady Annie (daughter was in it) Man Of LaMancha (in it twice) The rest I either haven't seen or have seen the movie version
Rent(favorite), Cats(like the music in it kinda), Beauty and the beast, The lion king, Grease (second musical I've ever seen, loved the movie), Annie (kinda liked the movie, first musical ever seen), Hairspray (loved the movie)
ive seen 12/15 when i was a little kid i did annie i was the lil orphan that sings its a ahrd knock life then leave lol xD and i did beuty and the beast in drama class and in chorus we sang RENT and one short day from wicked
I like the music in Cats, some of the songs are great, the show itself is a little weird tho.
I totally get what ur saying about Les Miz. My grandma told me the same thing.
The Lion King was fantastic. I wanted to cry in the opening number, amazing! go see it!
I'm in a Mentorship Program at a local theatre (i follow around one the actors and helps me with stuff.) and they're putting on 42nd street, but i haven't seen it
I completely agree with you about CATS. One of the worst musicals of all time. I have no idea how it lasted so long. It was my high school theatre teacher's least favorite too. Whenever someone was performing and did something...uninspiring I suppose, she would say, "Wow. That was almost as good as CATS." Haha.
Anyway, my score was 13/25. For as much as I love theatre, I haven't seen that many!
ive seen 10.. i LOVED rent.. and i did happen to like annie.. it was the first ever show i saw like that.. and then there was 42nd street... my school is doing that one this year for our musical.. pretty cool.. im surprised there was no fame... i was devestated.. and i did seusical last year.. it was good and i was also surprised sweet charity wasnt on that list.. but by god i hate cats.. LAME AS!!
Only 3/25. D: I only saw RENT on Broadway; was gonna see the Lion King this year on my birthday but the writer's strike cancelled it--the morning of our show the strike started! XD I guessed that the Phantom of the Opera would be the longest, though--I love that show.
So I've seen 14! None on Broadway though, as my parents keep on refusing my pleads to go to NY :C -- 2 on tour (Phantom and RENT), 1 local (Annie), 8 movies (Cats, Beauty, Chicago, Lion King, Grease, My Fair Lady, Producers, Cabaret, Hairspray), 2 school (Les Mis and Fiddler).
But I LOVE Miss Saigon and 42nd Street, would do anything to see them.
15... not bad for a straight guy eh? I'll be up to 17 in the next few months with Chorus Line and My Fair Lady coming to the Ahmanson Theatre in LA.... Other than that, I'm down to:
Oh Calcutta! and the three plays (which don't REALLY count), Cats, Mamma Mia, and Hairspray (only seen movie). WHEW!
I've seen 7 and been in 4. Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Beauty and the Beast and i did Annie professionally! i loved being in Annie, but i can't stand watching a play. i have to either be in it or be directing it. i do musicals. i loved Mama Mia! by the way, it was cool. i saw it about a month ago when it went to San Antonio and saw the dudes who played Sky, Harry, and Sam and the Girls who played Sophie, Donna and
Nine out of 25....Not too bad....I counted the fact that I was IN a production of Beauty and the Beast that my school did....So...Yeah....And Hairspray was the only one that I actually say on BROADWAY...Lol...Sad. The rest were high school musicals....:( Oh well.
I agree, Grease SUCKED on broadway. Saw it with Brooke Shields in it. Only saw 4 out of all of the one's listed. My fav's that weren't listed, The Diner Party (with Ritter and Winkler)(Funny!) and I still have my "Rent Dent" on my suv!!!! I refuse to fix it because it was the last show I saw before having to move! L O V E, love, love Rent!! (they never should have made the movie!) egad!!
OMG, I hate laundry SOOOOOO much. As I was watching this video I was actually trying to convince my fiance that he should put up our laundry. I feel your pain there Buck, I feel your pain. (Mine are piled up on the living room sofa, LoL)
I've seen only five of those ones! I guess all the ones I've seen are too new or something. I've seen Caberet x2 (My high school did it, can you believe it?), Man of La Mancha, My Fair Lady, Mamma Mia and Cats (BLEH! I wanted to walk out in the middle but couldn't bring myself to do it. Sucked! Buck, your comments on it are so apt!)
YAY! Broadway! I loves Broadway. When The Lion King came to Toronto like everybody saw it. Seriously. It was only sposed to be here for like 6 months or something, but it kept getting extended and it ended up being on for 4 years. I hated Hello Dolly.
yay person who loves rent!!!!!!!!!!!!! BTW, you might have recieved a hate comment from me a LONG time ago, but it was my brother. i'm really sorry about that.
Phantom, Cats, Rent, Producers, Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Hello Dolly, My Fair Lady, MaMa Mia, Annie =/ never again. hmmmm few years from now add Wicked to that list of longest running.
I've seen 9, all in movie form. THANK YOU! People act like i'm crazy because I HATE HATE!!! CATS. HATE IT. ugh... (as my mother sings Memories in the background...)
I saw: the Beauty and the Beast movie (...does that count?), Grease (movie...again), The Producers (the old movie, and a bit of the new), Annie (movie again)
The only broadway musical I've seen that's not a movie, was Wicked. It's in L.A and I saw it! YEA!
This makes me sad as a Theatre Major... 5/25. I've seen a bucnh of them in videos in class but I never get a chance to go to NY and the shows that come to my town kinda suck... Love the game days and love you most of all! Oh yeah, BTW, I didn't know you were big into theatre but as my friend James Ryan sais "all us gay men are into theatre in some way" lol
my brother was in a middle school representation of Hello Dolly --> it was really good! Okay, i was probably like 7 when i saw it, but whatever, i recommend it
14/25 probably 7 on broadway, I saw Hairspray in theatres the day it came out with my friends. I was in the musical God Spell and the director took the cast to see it.
07:05-07:08 made me laugh!
"Woof!" - "SUCK IT!!"
AND I'm folding laundry as I'm watching this (I hate it too!)

I'd recommend 'We Will Rock You' - it's like a live rock concert with a comedic plot!
Granted I've only seen the swedish cast, at 'Circus' in Stockholm, but I'd guess the english vocals are of the same high standards as they were.

Fiddler on the Roof
Annie
Wicked isn't on here....but it will be one day. So I'm going to count it as I've seen it twice going on three times.

I've seen 10/25. You should go on and see the Lion King if its still on. The set/costumes are so beautiful. Sensory over-load.

Yup, Lion's King's still playing. I haven't seen it, but I can tell it's fantastic :-)

Love the game days and love you most of all! Oh yeah, BTW, I didn't know you were big into theatre but as my friend James Ryan sais "all us gay men are into theatre in some way" lol
