To be fair those who are not in the recording business Sandy's voice has a ton of effects, way more than more than onToni Fishers version. Bottom line you just cant beat the original version. Toni Fisher and Timi Yuro were in a class of ther own.
@cassiejos Cassie, your grandpa, Wayne Shanklin and J.R., produced three "singles," for me in 1970 and 1972. They were marvelous to work with, and such great songs.....

@cassiejop - in 1959 Hurt was the most psychedelic hit of the era. An important song. There is no better version than your great-grandma's.

I feel the orginal singer "miss toni fisher" sounds much better but i might be bias since she is my great grandma

Toni Fisher was a true "belter". who had a great strong voice, and she used it to great effect.

Sandy had a much better voice than Toni Fisher, but Toni's interpretation of this song is in my opinion, much better.
