  • From a 16 year old child prodigy to the mist of the civil rights movement to a walk with Martin singing we shall over come to a talk with president Obama saying , we ain,t gone let nobody turns us around. Steveland Morris a great musical genius.

  • My goodness I was 10yrs old when this was recorded and I Learned it and My Sister Bonnie who is now Deceased would make me sing it in front of all her Friends. That was 40yrs ago, I Love this Song and Stevie is the Only One can sing it to meand for me! I Remember Bonnie Henry 5-27-49 to10-07-96

  • If only this was possible...the world would be a wonderful place to live in...what ever happen to mankind.....everyone is in such a hurry, forgetting to smile or say hello, or thank you, and please...... I miss the good old days..when people acted like humans.

  • Ow, Listen to that piano!

  • this version makes me happy..Michael's voice make me to cry so much coz he was singing really sad :(

  • Gotta agree with most here, I love both Stevie's and MJ's version's, Stevie seemed to express the joy and excitement of childhood while Micheal seem to say even when the worst happens "nothings gonna get you down".

    Glad I found both.

  • i remember listening to this when my older sister waqs grooving i was about 13 it was beautiful then and now

  • as a kid, he wrote and delivered some of the most beautiful songs, and most were B-sides. I guess that (Gordy) was realy afraid of Stevie's natural talent, and didn't realy push or promote him like the Genious that he was,and still remains, just a thought.......PEACE2U

  • i love michael jackson and stevie wonder's versions.

i dont think they should ever be compared. they have totally different styles to them

Michael's is more deep and stevie's is more happy.

they are both amazing in their own ways!

  • Beautiful

  • wow this is great :D

  • miss you Victoria

  • Well, I was a child when this version came out. So, this one struck my child's heart at that time. However, I really love Mike's version, as well. As someone else pointed out, Mike's expresses pain. This one expresses the wonderment, amazement and curiosity of childhood. Both are beautiful. Both are my favs.

  • There are a lot of things in this song that we should take from this song.

  • MIKEA VERSION WAS TIGHT BUT DTEVIES WAS THE ORIGINAL THE MASTER WROTE THIS........ONE IN A MILLION THE MAN IS BAD

  • Stevie is one of the most talented entertainers of our life time. Though this song was early in his career, I have always considered it his best. The one thing I don't understand though, is why it doesn't get very much recognition or play? I saw in one of the other postings that the person didn't even know it was Stevie's song originally. That kind of drives the point home.

  • Stevie's version show's the excitement of being a kid. whenever being a grown up is too overwhelming, face the world with a child's heart. children are always positive...michael's version is more somber. it's like he's in pain, but there's hope. he can face his worries with a child's heart...Vocally I like Stevie's better. He sings it with like no one else can. Musically Michael's touches me more. It's slower and more to my taste.

  • whoa. forgot about this one. great song. nice hearing a young stevie.

  • love both stevie and mike....no doubt. but i think mj's is more sincere, stevie's just reflects more joy. which aint a bad thiiiiing.

  • Stevie is the best I love michael but he just can't sing this song like stevie can both are great but Stevie is the bomb... love you both..

  • @MOONTOP56 Well said, I agree with you Stevie version is better and I love Michael, but this is Stevie's song!!

  • Favorite Stevie song from the sixties. Thanks.

  • ladies and Gentlemen, Straights and Gays:

This song is Stevie's sorry, no matter how you slice it, no matter how you dice it, it belongs to Stevie, end of story

  • I'm sorry Mike, I love his version, but Stevie's has an extra flow to it. I love his teen voice here. :)

  • @timmy841212 When I first started listening to soul music regularly on the radio this is how Stevie sounded. Songs he did in the late 70s and 80s are classic but nothing like hearing the teen voice of Stevie. you could feel how much he enjoyed singing. He has the right voice for this song, hands down.

  • i heard michael's version of this beautiful lil song a year ago for the first time, and it was an instant fave. i happen to hear steve's version for the first time today and it also is an instant fave.. i lke steve's better, especially the music.

  • Michael Jackson's version shows more pain and makes ur reflect about being a kid and your childhood but stevie's version it more upbeat and makes u more happy....both versions are beautiful in their own way...:D I personally lyk MJ's better bt i love Stevie's too Stevie is mindblowing :D

  • @Gorillagal247 I agree!!! Michael's version always be makin me bout to cry, Stevie VOICE!! Is a feel good voice!!

  • Pleaseeeeeeeeeeee Stevie owns this song..he owns any song he has ever written or performed..!!

  • my favorite version of this song is actually by diana ross with the supremes. but each version -- stevie's, diana's and michael's -- is so wonderful, so classic in its own right. motown's really is an extraordinary american musical legacy. as we mourn the loss of michael jackson we cannot help but celebrate the eternal luster of the motown roster.

  • whew, hearing this song again made me reflect back to the mid sixties, basement parties, my turn table, and my babies daddy....i'm in tears literally. thanks for posting this song! LOVE U STEVIE!

  • Best version <33

Even though I love them both

    This is just amazing!

  • i didnt know this was a stevie wonder song

  • Thank you for posting this great song! I wonder if any Motown fans ever noticed that the 45 version of a lot of our favorites were a little different from the album versions?

This is definitely an album version which is slightly different. I do not know how to post songs, but when i learn iwould like to play the two versions so you can hear what I mean about the differences.

  • @rxs98 Motown used to do this ALL the time........their singles were literally mixed for radio....more base, more background vocals, more up-front guitar work. The album versions of their songs were always a bit more "mellow" and not as "radio friendly."

Just thought you'd like to know..........

  • @rxs98

  • Oh no Stevie Wonder everytime!! Love him!!

  • I like this version than Michael Jackson's version, The original is always the best!!!
