When I make my meals and I am american btw, I always try and make it very pretty and simple looks are everything to a kid. A kid will eat most things as long as it is properly cooked, seasoned and looks cute. I've gotten my daughter to eat all of her vegetables as long as I don't throw them on a plate. It's hard work and sometimes I don't always have time because I also work a lot, but in the end she knows I made food with love for her so she can grow to eat healthy and no processed food.

@gomeznl so true. it's portion controlled for one, visually pleasing, and it reminds you to add color variety to your meals, like multiple fruits/veggies (eat the rainbow). the good news is you can buy these here, you just have to assemble them yourself.
