  • hmm do lyrics really matter, its the music that counts! no one should care about lyrics being translated right or not, good music can stand alone with no lyrics, this song would be just as good without them...

  • you, you hate, YOU HATE ME! :D

  • Comment removed

  • ...hehe... he said 'to stay inside her'... np

  • guys we get it plz stop with the translation issues. at least he tried and so stop condemming him. ok im glad he put this up even if there is a typo or two in the lyrics who cares

  • it's not do you hate me, it's you, you got me, you, you have me

  • @minimousha in germen hast means HATE bud srry

  • @seductiveeyez505 ok du hass mich means you hat me but du hast means u have/got me

  • NEIN!!! (I'm not German btw...)

  • All you idiots that complain about the translation not being the LITERAL translations need to think and listen to the damn song before you start rambling...if it said "do you want, until death seperates you, to be faithful to her for all days...NO!" it would sound fucking stupid...all the band is doing is being smart about it to make more money dumb fucks...it all means the same thing, shut up and go to bed...

  • Haha I don't like this version either...

  • this is not a translation... is a adaptation! ^^

  • The verses aren't literal translations, they are different so that they will rhyme better.

"Do you want, until death seperates you,

to be faithful to her for all days

Do you want, until death seperates you,

to be faithful to her for all days

    Never

Do you want, until death, which would seperate,

to love her, even in bad days"

That is what it literally means.

  • This sounds fucking dumb. German version is a million times better.

  • @xfaggotxmaggotx the dont listen to it retard and honestly i dont think you can call anything "fucking dumb" until you change that name of yours

  • WEll in german "Hast" and "Hasst" means have and hate

    *reading description*

    Nvm

    RAMMSTEIN!!!

  • In German it means have in English Rammstein changed it to hate, we get two completely different songs that are both freaking awesome. Everyone shut up, especially when you are having a go at the guy who made this when it is the band themselves that changed the word from have to hate (Hast-Hasst) So wtf you bitching about? Enjoy the fucking music idiots

  • wtf it sounds way better in german i respect germans cuz i am german

  • "Nein" sounds way better than "no"

  • man how the fuck cares about the fucking translashne it doesnt fucking mature just injoy the fucking song

  • The way they said ''NO'' in german is cooler:O

  • rammstein did this on purpose people. they did it for their own joy to see how many people who are non german native get worked up on the meaning. just letting you know they did it for their pleasure they came out and said it in an interview

  • best description ever :D... thank God someone is not playing smartass... thumb up pal

  • it sounds better in german

  • @oldnews1991

    Indeed.

  • @oldnews1991 i know

  • i like song but i would like the video better if their was a pic or some shit

  • Comment removed

  • @TheGrantman83 actually it isnt a translation. you can be german or whatever, but its not a translation, even rammstein has come out and said that. if you think its a translation, you must not be a follower of rammstein and a poser bitch.

  • The lyrics to the English version are not a direct translation from then German due to the use of a homonym between the German verbs haben (to have), and, hassen (to hate). When conjugated in the 2nd person singular form, the verbs haben and hassen become respectively hast & hasst. There's no phonetic difference between these two words. Due to the translational impossibility of retaining the homophone in English, the English version was changed from Du hast, to du hasst.

  • So in German, the name is is "Du Hast" that is "You Have".

But this is "You Hate", there must be a complication...

  • @Iggykl i dont need you to tell me i have to learn deutsch i was only saying what i know, i didnt request for your opinion, so, SHUT THE FUCK UP

  • I'm not sure if someone has already commented on this but ah well...

Rammstein specifically changed the English lyrics to "You hate me" to confuse non-German speakers further considering in the original German lyrics they said "Du hast mich" (You have me) which sounds practically indistinguishable from "Du hasst mich" (You hate me).

  • LMAO its about sex?? and it was on guitar hero.. I wonder if it was some sort of inside joke they had going on at activision

  • where the LYRICS?

  • sounds better in german just wanted to know what the words really were fun to play on guitar though

  • who made this video?! are you sure are rammstein who sings this song? cuz i know hast is have not hate :S so... i have no idea why are they singing hast as hate :S

  • @piiNnkdeEadD hassen is to hate, du hasst - you hate, learn deutsch:)

  • @piiNnkdeEadD Yes it is Rammstien. You are correct, "hast" is not "hate", it's "have", however "hasst" is "hate". There are many multiple meanings to lyrics of this song. Actually it's really interesting

  • wow

  • the whole thing about this hasst is hate and hast is have listen to the music i mean im pretty sure he is saying "you hate me" or is that just me?

  • This song should never have been made in English.

  • @Rith9789 Indeed. Confuses people even more.

  • no tiene la letra

    that its too bad

    BOOOO!!!!

  • osama is dead!

  • @helliski212 O RLY? I had no idea! :O!!!! XD

  • no man that said hasst is hate its hass no t at the end

  • its you have

  • Sooo, I just realized this was about sex {x lool.

  • @audreylushy really??? ok i never figured that out up until now

  • @audreylushy It's not about sex lol

  • its so much better in german

  • Dont bother translating. You hate Till Limdann and he absolutley hate him. He knows like all other rock stars and celebrities that if they had no fuck grinding music or money you wouldnt even give them a dollar in their hat on the subway.

Rammstein has mastered the art of playing into your disturbing sexual fantasies and desires to squash everyhting beautiful and make you pay to see YOUR own dangerous minds.

Its not going to look pretty when they are finished with you. This is the last tour.

  • chours is great! maybe sounds better than original...but "u hate" sounds plastic

  • "Hasst" is hate and "Hast" is have.

  • where are the lyrics?

  • wow guys du hast miche has a lot of meanings it can mean u have me, u hate me, ur with me, and u want me and yes nein means no and Du hast mich gefragt, und ich hab nichts gesagt means You asked me, and I said nothing

  • @tllove430 the english versions true meaning is you hate me

  • @killerjew01 No it's not, the song is "Du Hast Mich" meaning YOU HAVE ME! It's a freaking love song for crying out loud!

  • @SethChrisDominic it can be seen either way both hate and have sound the same when spoken and the music video begs to differ watch it

  • @SethChrisDominic a love song?

"Willst du bis der tod euch scheidet

    Treu sein für alle tage?

    Nein!"

    means (word by word):

"Do you want until death divides you

    be loyal forever?

    No!"

  • Stop being racists!!!!!

  • This sounds SO weird in English! :/ haha

  • ohh and nein means no, everyone knows that

  • omfg du hast mich means you got/have me. du hasst mich means you hate me dumbshit. LEARN YOUR FUCKING GERMAN

  • I Kinda Giggled When He Said "To Stay Inside Her" :]

  • i fucking hate the english and is it rusuin

    or german

  • @masterhand54 rammstein is german but i don't know exactly what an accident of that proportions has to do with music if you wanna know just look up rammstein - "band"

  • Well this is cool.Although the original version is the best. The reason it is different then the original is because they couldnt literally translate the german words into english ones.If they did it would sound stupid.

  • wär viel cooler wenn du die lyrics in des video eingefügt hättest

  • Ew...I just realized how awesome German is after hearing this...German people always sound angry and I love it, so powerful =d

  • @mrcow94 yeah this dudes in favor of Genocide I can tell

  • HAST is have not hate

  • oh man, it sounds so much better in german.

  • If I may... Hast(have)/Hasst(hate) is a deliberate play on words, and he clearly says 'never' to rhyme with 'forever'. I thought that was obvious? It sounds bizarre because we're used to the German and his German accent doesn't make the song sound exactly, err... eloquent. But can't anybody just say the original is a preference instead of hating on it and causing arguments?

No matter what tongue he chooses to speak in... I still love Rammstein! :)

  • see even Till sounds less masculine in English. its true the German accent is angry and aggressive, but i like it, and that coming from a Brit lol

  • Comment removed

  • i played the snake game the whole song

  • Living in germany almost my whole life, and hearing this song countless times in German, the english version doesn't sound that bad :3

  • "Shut up about the translations. We all know that "Hasst" is hate and "Hast" is have."

Yeah, well that's why the song is called "DU HAST"!!!! It's a LOVE song, not a freaking HATE song!

  • @SethChrisDominic You sound dumber than the rest. It's a double meaning.

  • The original German is full of double meanings and puns. I think this English version does a pretty good job of preserving the MEANING of the song over the actual words (like have/hate, etc.).

  • woah... freaky in english...

  • Am I the only person who expected a bit of a gruffer voice from the singer when he's doing the English?

  • if the hate was more cut/fast and rough it would be better!

  • what's wrong with u all?? its not so bad!

  • DO NOT WANT.

  • actually hat is also used ffor have

  • @DebtToLiveBy yes, but not together with "du"... just as one wouldn't use "you has" (du hat) or "he have" (er hast), but rather "he has" (er hat).

  • Anyone else think this is fake?!?! Just like with the Amerika english one?!?!?!?!?!

  • @slipknot1915 It's real. They realsed an English version.

  • Ramstein are Deutsch and you say that it sounds wrong in English , but it's the same band idiots ! they sing like they want and no one gonna change that fact motherfuckers FUCK ALL OF YOU !!

  • Just sounds weird in English.

    Not. Right. At. All.

  • I think it sounds good in English and in German

  • Look up exactly Rammstein-Du Hast With English Translation

    U get the real translation

  • @necrodeous this song was made by them

  • @dfgh123gh because the German version of the song uses a play on words with "hasst" (hate) and "hast" (have)... in English, think of "You, You will, You will not, You will knot the bow". Same with hasst and hast. By default, a German hears "hasst" (You 'hate' me) because of context, until the sentence is complete with "hast" making sense (You 'have' asked me). However, the wordplay is lost in translation, as English doesn't have a homonym for "hate" meaning "have", so only the one word is used.

  • @SeraphimPwnsU one guy who has understand it

  • @TheAldi1003 It's not that hard to understand, if you speak both German and English, and have heard both the German and English versions. ^_~

  • We beat you Germans in WWII

  • @pieman1019 you wanna start a WWIII??? dont say that

  • @DjABBlends its already on and forever will be

  • @pieman1019 what do you want to say with this statement? this has nothing to do with this video of rammstein!!!

  • I love this, but in German:) In english is so weird...

  • Nein is No u dumb shittt!!!!!!!

  • This song has nazzigrammar as the hell.

    You hate me to say

    Her lover too...

    What t3h fuck?

  • I love english, but this song, this band and english suck!

    DU HAST MICH!

  • This says you hate me. "Du hast mich" means you have me

  • This song would be so much better without a singer.

  • i love the video, u musta put loads of work into this...

  • Wow, this is really weird to heard after hearing this song thousands of times in german...

  • just about everything in a different language sound better then the english

  • @yumi35 ?? where are you from?

  • @xXCODWAWXx1 usa

  • @yumi35 oh kk i thought u may have been German. yeah i kinda agree KINDA ... some parts sound better in english. the song Amerika sounds better in english i reckon

  • @xXCODWAWXx1 uh?

  • @yumi35 Amerika sounds better in English. Du hast sounds sort of better in German.

  • @xXCODWAWXx1 no it dont alot of songs that been turn into english sucks so much really the greman some is not better it dont even compare to the english because english song sucks i have listen to alot of songs that been turn into english and then i listen to the langage it came from is like way better then englisg

  • It sucks because the lyrics make less sense. The guys can't speak English. So of course the English version is written for them, and sucks.

  • @forgottenkillerband Actually, some of the members of Rammstein can speak english. I know Till and Richard can.

  • @ReneeKana Well, then let's hope if they come out with something translated, it's better. And no, I'm not a HUGE fan of Pussy. It wasn't the best mix of languages.

  • souh gaiiL...

  • This version is wrong..

"You hate me to say" is not possible in german.....
