  • this half was short wish they talked more with the miners.

  • Mine the old fashioned way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Chem trails are not polluting the air?? I prefer coal!!!

  • you are an idoit mony mizer

  • i worked at monterey in carlinville for 2 years... UMWA got laid off in 2007, i was a beltman went around with another guy cleaning spills.. that place is a gold mine compared to more places.. i drove an s-10 witha mazda deisel engine in it. that mantrip looks alot like what the guys rode in to the units wtih

  • What does it matter how much coal are oil we burn. We are all going to perish in 2012 anyway right? I seen a movie and read a book about it so it must be true. Right? Not to mention it was forecasted 2000 yrs ago.

People as a whole are stupid , and gullible creatures. Lol

  • NO FUCKING WAY

  • There is 200 years worth of coal left in the United states. This Canadian faggot is pushing Global warming Bs to destroy the United States. Al Jazeera doesnt have the best interests of the US. Plants breath C02 this is such nonesense.

  • It´s interessting for me to see these miners drive into their mines like this. I just know the huge deep-shaft mines over here in europe. They are the safest in the world and due to that fact, they are to expensive to compeed with the US, China, India or even Poland. So the politicians will cut them till 2018. Then the last german deep-shaft mine will close.

Besides that, we are still building coal-firing power plants...

  • Irritating to me. First we made ourself depend on foreign oil and now on foreign coal.

I have a lot of respect for the miners all over the world. They are doing a very hard and dangerous job and I think they do not get the proper respect which they deserve. Face it, after 30 to 40 years in the mine, you´re done. So Glückauf to you all, as we say here in germany! You are doing a good job!

  • But I think its also a fact (though I hate to admit it) that coal burning ist THE killer of the ozonelayer. So we should think about alternatives and use them if possible. They will generate an industry itself, like in denmark. Theres a hug industry which builds wind-generators in huge amounts.

But you can not chance something on which you depend overnight.

  • There is nothing wise about coal mining. Blowing up mountains could harm or even destroy the local waterways, not to mention the mercury runoff. Then the production of the plants lead to tons of waste in the atmosphere. All of that just for electricity. That's too give up for turn on a switch.

  • Then why are you using the computer? Every time you use the computer you use coal. Way to be a hypocrite.

I just want someone to show me who has a viable alternative to coal, something that isnt going to jack my power bill up by 3x

    -proud WV miner

  • yeah would you like to go to a grocery store in the pitch black? Watch tv,talk on the phone, get on the computer, and so on

  • r u stupid? u must be. do u realize the jobs it puts out. what about the car you drive it was made from coal, they use it to melt steel. and no its no worse than the smog that lingers over L.A. and big city's idk where your from but mining coal is a tradition around here i am a proud miner and so was my father and so on. this country needs coal hospital's they need those switch's to save your but when u get sick. people like you that r u too ignorant to understand .

  • burn coal!!

  • Leave it in the ground! One form of mining they did not mention is mountain top removal mining. If the plant in Wise is built, mountains would continue to be blown up, causing massive flooding and poisoning the headwaters of the Appalachian mountains (the drinking water supply for much of the East coast!) There are alternatives to coal. There are no alternatives to WATER!

  • They talked about mountain top removal mining in the first part.

  • @hollister927 ...watch part 1...mountain top reoval was clearly mentioned...DUH!

  • youtube video /watch?v=azTSP_ZFHm8

dangers of mercury and how toxic it is, from a doctor.

  • So, you interview retired activists, and not a scientist? Nice propaganda techniques.

Want the coal mining to end? Then use it all up, dummies!

  • you didnt see the first part of the show? they interviewed a nasa scientist.

  • That old fart talking about our children and grandchildren. They aren't going to have a planet by the time they grow up. We are polluting it beyond repair! Humans are worse than animals. We are killing ourselves. Type into the search "china pollution" We don't have to worry about China, they are doing themselves in quickly. I feel bad for the people in all these places who are being sold out.

  • @monymizer why are you using a coal powered pc then??

  • They were paid off! Like everyone else in USA! U disgust me!
