@McLovinMoD1990s Spot on. Actually, I'm 20, i dont have a wife, but i do have a girlfriend, and that last thing you said is irrelevant. Movie critics dont need to make better movies than the one theyre criticizing. Also, youre a fucking idiot.
@melvinthompson7 So you're saying this is the best music recording of all history? Get the fuck out, idiot. Don't get me wrong, it's good, it isn't THAT good.
Does anyone else notice clipping issues with this song and other songs on this album? It seems to partially clip and or cut out for a millisecond on one stereo side or another many times.throughout the song, especially when he is playing loudly or sing loudly. It isnt just the video buffering either, i have downloaded the album and when playing off of mp3s it seems to do it as well.
My buddy Greg West turned me on to this one when he started covering it....we were fascinated instantly....even happier after hearing that his other work is as worthy. Truly inspired lyrics and brilliant performances, hope he comes to or near Florida someday.
@MammatoMaya Sometimes having such a sound and such true genius be exclusive and rarely heard is what makes it so good, it's like finding a diamond in the rough
quality takes time to appreciate- the reason why he isnt more popular. id much sooner listen to this than instantly catchy generic pop which gets boring after a few listens
This song is complete euphoria. His voice fills a void in me. When he goes from loud to soft, and all of his variations, well... they make my head spin.
@dirtyfukinrotten I'm trying to find out why you TMOE fans are fucking assholes. seriously, this is the second time I've been ripped from making a simple observation.
Just saw this guy on Jols Holland - excellent ! Really different loved the emotion.
Did any one spot Beady eye ....sounded just so predictably like another band I remember from the early 90's......though not as good,,,,,now what was their name ...O ....dear.
@StubyStubyDoo This guys fantastic! Far by one of the greatest acoustic acts of this decade! Beady Eye? Not so good to predictable as you said..... Oasis were a fantastic band! Raphael Siddiq was simply amazing aswell ;)
@unicorn4sure yes, that was the best show EVER, I've never watched Jools before and fallen in love with every performer there (apart from Beady Eye & Elbow who's albums I already owned)
@Spedding101 perhaps, but hmv needs my pennies. yeah hope i like build a rocket, always had a dormant love for guy garvey after he sang with massive attack
I've just discovered him also through Johannes Nyholm's website - a swedish guy who made a videclip for one of his songs-. Just trust me and see the trailer of his short movie called Las Palmas. It's hilarious. And.. well.. regarding The Tallest, he sure makes girls fall in love with him and makes guys think he would be an interesting friend to have. Or not.
I have to admit, I'm just discovering The Tallest Man on Earth. Within just a few weeks, I have purchased every album and have listened through each one multiple times. What an amazing artist. It's so nice to hear a great acoustic guitar combined with great singing/songwriting. "King of Spain" is definitely one of, if not my favorite song.
honestly...this song is ruined for me...this guys voice is just short of aweful...the guitar is so good in the begining and i apreciate it...but if he got another guy to sing..they wuld prolly be my favorite band
@idkyimmakinganacount First of, its not a band, its just him, also, you might dislike the style of his voice but in terms of music, he hits the right notes, and live he is a very very good singer, with a very strong voice, its just the style you dislike. which is too bad, i had to get used to it aswell, seen him live, he's awesome, this guy is pure talent,
Great lyric great playing great artist ! stumbled upon a good write up here ;- (substitute the dots for ... 's) musiccourt dot word press dot com/2010/12/30/the-best-songs-of-2010-1-king-of-spain-by-the-tallest-man-on-earth/ which brought me to this upload...lucky me!
The Tallest Man on Earth is a great tip of the hat to Bob Dylan. Maybe even the Dylan of our generation, in a generation where Dylan would not be half as popular. He said that Dylan is his favorite artist, and greatest inspiration. I used to think that he somehow ripped off Bob Dylan or something, I was wrong. Thanks a lot to The Tallest Man On Earth and his friend, Bon Iver for being the most transcendental musical force in my life, just behind of course, Bob Dylan.
"His lyrics are rough and often ragged, more concerned with evoking aching emotions than with making explicit sense. But that coded aspect only makes him sound more urgent, as if he's trying to convince you of something he couldn't possibly put into words."- Pitchfork Media
This sums up his music well. Great stuff, thanks for the upload.
