in the starting instead of wasting a predator missle u can just use an RPG-7 on the pack of guys

TIP: I tried to follow rebelink's path, but found it much easier to go right along the road/building than go through building 33. The exploding gas tanks further up the road will take care of most of the enemies there. Also, I got a checkpoint, when I reached the gas tanks. Go through building 33 and you will not get a checkpoint. This only matters if you, like me, tends to die a lot.

what actualy happens to the nuke, isn't it just an emp that blows over washington

a nuke can act as two things a weapons of total destruction (if it hits the ground and blows) or an EMP if it is detonated above the target and the higher its detonated the bigger the EMP

And there are multiple ways to complete missions, guides are a good reference but go with what works best for your playing style.

Cutscenes are there for a reason, don't skip them otherwise the entire game will make no sense.

MW2 was extremely easy on veteren compared to past games. CoD WaW was the hardest, except for maybe the first 2 CoD games. MW2 really gives you the tools to win. Take your time as there are no infinite respawns anymore.

because he intended for the nuke to go off to help the americans in washington, they were losing because of the russians air, so he used the nuke as an emp of sorts.

What, I beat the countdown with around 10 seconds left.... I just followed the right hand side path and then cut to the left and got several checkpoints along the way which made this part extremely easy

The easiest thing to do is fire the RPG at the group of guys then use the predator missile to shoot down the helicopter.
