Yup, this elevator needs to be fixed.

I mean, it worked about halfway, then it suddenly stopped and I fell to my death.

Guys to fix this, make an extended piston in the same chunk and shoot an arrow into it....

@HuntedMC I just tried this (finding the elevators not working in the downloadable test world) and it works o_o

What an odd fix LOL Has anyone forwarded this strange issue to Jeb (via Twitter)? Its obviously a bug, though pretty minor as it only seems to affect this use of pistons :P

Actually, nvm, i found a way to made it work, just hold shift while you step back and slowly press the pressure plate.

The first design doesn't work very well at 1.2.3, was working perfect on 12w07, my character usually stuck on the first 3 blocks, sometimes on the middle of the row after like 30 blocks without move my character.

no, but a couple of random things work a bit differently... it's probably accidental

Mate, you have won a subscriber with this video, I love the fencepost pressure plate elevator and have one built and working in my world. I would love to put the glass front type in my main base (IMO it looks better) but I cant get it to work at all. Could you please do a tutorial just on the glass front version?

I am trying to get it to work in smp… grr. Most of the time you go right through the pistons and every now and then you go up part way or half way. I have experimented with delay on the repeaters but cannot figure this out. would it matter if i used wood plates on the fences? any other ideas?

This is based on the fact that the fence hit box changed and the pressure plates can still be activated when placed on fences.

There is a faster elevator but not as automatic but more efficiant. minecart held by painting. Place it every 6 blocks up in a tube and you can travel 6 blocks up every time u right click

@trere1000 just add a T-flip-flop and hook the pressure plate to it. add a pressure plate at the top and hook to the same T-flip-flop for the downward part
