  • You've gotta love Mr Fry! There's not even the merest hint of 'celeb' about him. What other celebrity would put themselves on youtube doing a 19 sec review of a gadget?

I say review, but as such things it didn't tell us a lot. Incidently I've just bought the pocket camcorder in question.

  • It is of course Steven Fry, since that was taken he is now half the man he once was, well done that man, great little camera too..

  • is that the creative vado, or creative vado HD

  • Looks like Jeremy Clarkson

  • @Imyta8 Steven Fry

  • is that shuggy lorry?

  • I'm glaring nicely at the things and scenery behind your head - a really cosy and clean kitchen you have! Although, the 'cleansed part' isn't the important bit.

Thanks for helping me with my English studies (if it's you Mr Fry)! I suppose so and hope so.

  • Do u like your creative cam?

  • what the program u use with?

  • You must click the HQ before viewing it is to the right of the volume icon and you will see this lovely video in HD. The camera is wonderful and plug and play it will load its' own software the hd one anyway and there is a button to the top of that screen it loads that says youtube very easy to upload. Nice job on your video.

  • Nice camera but even better kitchen!! lol

  • Whatever the quality of the new-fangled contraptions you review Mr.L (lovely) Fry..

You are always going to look divine through them..blushes* runs down school corridor howling like a banshee!

  • It's just like requiem for a dream.

  • Hello, i have a vado too but i cant get the footage on to youtube. did you use the uploader in the onboard program?

Ive even tried opening it up in a video editor but it saves the .avi's with the audio intact but with a black screen where the drunk people should be.

    Anybody?

  • install xvid codec and the shitface should re-appear

  • Oh, is this supposed to be a video camera? I'm a bit confused. You didn't really specify in your video message.

I'd like to hear more, I'm in the market to buy a new one soon :) Viel Dank

  • This camera is better than the other one! Sound and image are better.

    P.S. Ya lublu vas :-)

  • this one's better!

  • Nice Kitchen Stephen, And your Looking Gorgeous As Usual, was Wondering if it would Be Possible to see Some Footage in A less Well Lit Area?

  • Cool kitchen!

My Technica camera from Tesco is put to shame.

  • You probaly need to put the video up to alow us to compare the quyality as youtube often induces artifacts

  • Your kitchen is spotless mate, keep it up.

  • This is definatly better than the Flip if i'm honest. Colours are better and clearer and the sound is amost perfect?

  • As much as I love the phones, your hair, Mr Fry, is in a league of its own.

  • Wotcher Stephen!

    Quick question:

Is it possible to go into really dark areas and light areas with it to see how it copes with the change? You did it a little bit, but I'm wondering how it copes with a real drop in daylight, or even electric light at night.

Love the (Guardian magazine) column, BTW...

  • Yes the Vado does it for me. Sound quality is important after a bad experience with a Disgo. The Saturday Guardian is worthy buying again.

  • What a joy to find a review of small video cameras in this week's Dork Talk, as well as your lovely kitchen.

Thanks Stephen for providing examples to go with the review.

  • The sound does seem to be a lot better on the Vado and for me personally the picture has a slight edge over the flip, if a little washed-out.

  • Hey, the Vado looks pretty good to me at the price. Thanks, Stephen. (How soon before they are no longer of the minute and start going for £15 on Ebay, I wonder?) I've been trying to make music videos with a scanner, to predictably amateurish effect... This could be the future. Hurrah.

    More online dork reviews, please.

  • Aieee.... I've Just Stephen Fry's Kitchen....

    Looking Good Stephen !

  • Popped here from Guardian. This one looks better then the Flip and cant you solve the USB charging with that plug for the socket? Or am I being blond? :)

I have a little video from the Wells beach somewhere taken with digital camera, it does look a bit better then the flip, but you cant hear anything because the wind was so bad.

By the way love the bushy hair, is it windy in Norfolk again? :)

  • do you wanna know something Mr. Fry - you ROCK!

  • Je suis d'accord!

    xoxoxo loni

  • I think out of the two you did a quick review of on here the vado is better, expecially audio quality, good to see you on the 'tube Stephen , oh and this was very useful too.

  • Hi Stephen Fry!

  • Hello! Yes. I posted this because I've been reviewing them for the Guardian. Won't come out for weeks yet, but I do a column called Dork Talk and was sent the vado and the Flip for review ... S

  • Ah, this is exactly what I have been looking for. Trying to find a suitable camera for recording motorcycle riding/Video blogging without shelling out hundreds on a professional camera is a pain.

Thank you very much Mr Fry.

  • I just bought one of these yesterday and I was looking at other peoples videos when I stumbled onto this one. Then I was surprised to see it was Mr. Fry testing it out. :)
