if you want powerful thick rhythms yet still be able to play leads i suggest ernie ball slinky top heavy bottoms, or my choice d'addario light top heavy bottoms. both are nickel round wound. both are pretty much the same, i just prefer d'addario.
Haha I had .11 strings one time and practiced a song with lots of bending for like 3 days straight and I got a fat blood blister so I know how you feel haha. Sucks
You got that high note close enough, thats the only bad part of this whole vid. Great job though i love the way you played it and it sounded amazing! Beautiful guitar btw
I'm not sure if I have tried flat wound. I don't play outside of the house or with anyone else, so I usually just go with regular (i.e., cheap) strings without paying much attention.
I did not know Jon Butcher. I listened to that song - "Wishes" - just now. I was surprised by the solo. I like the guitar sound very much.
Thank you for the reply seriously respect I have not got the technique (which you most definitely have a lot of) but I can play pretty good although I have a lot to learn but I am learning pretty fast.
Awesome! Just what I was looking for. Thanks man and the string break was funny. You really are a great guitar player. There is a lot of feeling in the way you play and I can tell you are very relaxed and at home on it.

Wow! You hit that high note perfectly! I usually cheat and bend from 23rd, but yours was perfect. Well played solo and a lot of personality too!
A question about the Power Slinky, are they very thin and easier to bend but breaks more often? Or is it the other way around?

Excellent! String break was funny, it happens so seldom, so you can't really believe what just happened to the sound before you check the guitar :P

Nice - have you tried flat/nickle? (great sound) especially on a Fender! Do you know "Wishes", by Jon Butcher? Sounds like your style!

Hey again, if that note hurt your hand, condition it by doing it again and again, but probably want to start at a lower gret :P
