Matt does a version of the twist where the opponent picks matt up and the opponent is bent over somewhat and matt hits a quick twist of fate. Escobar was standing high and tall making it impossible to hit a corrext twist of fate and making matt have to hit a cutter(which they called a twist of fate on tv). In a way it was both of their faults but since I've seen it work on so many others who have talent, I can only blame Eric for I have never been impressed with his wrestling.
