  • Strange part about my play is that we have 2 frogs, boy and girl. Don't know why, but it looks SO funny because the girl's about 5'4" and the boy is about 6'2"

  • I am not a fan of the frog costume covering the face but this is a good performance.

  • @Jayhawker12797 that frog costume is one of the best costumes I have EVER seen. Just my opinion.

  • i have to agree @MsOctoberstorm, the frog costume lacks creativity

  • @jayhawker12797 so a tuxedo is more creative give me a break this looks great if you were there trust me i was there it looked great and stands out

  • Lol, I was afraid Ugly was going to punch the kid while he was dancing with him.

    ... I'm a terrible person.

    :(

  • Aww little girl

  • I love the frog costume!

  • Can you post up the scene with Ugly and Penny, please?

    Thanks!

  • great job! and the recording quality is great too. i just saw this live over the weekend and i have been watching a bunch of youtube videos of this song to find one with good sound quality and intonation. you nailed both :) thanks!

  • funny funny really funny funny i watch this over and over and over every day!!!

  • the costumes are wrong, they are took animal looking,i mean yer they are animals but the costumes are meant to be as human as possible and thats what makes the show interesting

  • @MsOctoberstorm I would really say that it is up to the artistic director what the costumes look like. Do you remember the frogs in the original? Those did not look remotely human. Now, I would say that there was a very odd mixture of themes, but you can't just say that they are wrong. Do you see the people that join him? They look very human. The frog doesn't, but that is an odd mixture of themes that does not seem to be very fluent to me. But you have an incorrect post. thanks and good night.

  • Small child totally stole the scene, but this is a fab version of one of my fave songs from one of my fave shows :)

  • Where did you get that awesome frog costume?

  • i really like this song!

  • I love this play! my school did it last year, but it was only for highschool, and i was in jr.high,so i couldnt be in it :) at my school the toad looked like a casino dealer with a sparkaly vest and everything, good job to childrens theater :)

  • That Frog Is Bleedin Scary

  • lol! ass...k lol!

  • The Ugly in this version's character voice is hurting his singing - he sounds too nasal. However, I really like the Bullfrog, and the ensemble is quite good, especially given that many of them are very young.

  • ugh... they actually gave him a frog costume?

  • @littlemisshappy97 yeah, it makes this production look like they were 2 lazy to come up with smthing else

  • @jayhawker12797 No, the reason they used the frog costume is because that same actor played Drake, and they didn't want him to be recognized.

  • @tomatosoup098 That's precisely what we did for Honk six years back. The guy in our rendition had a fantastic voice, and it would have been a shame to not have him elsewhere in the show. I enjoyed the heck out of this show, as stage manager, stage right followspot, prop manager and general 'George' guy (getting bottles of water and such for the actors and actresses).

  • This was really good! I am a goose and a froglet so my dance was complety diffrent.

    but nicely done! :)

  • At the end, when they're like, "Someone's gonna love yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa", is Ugly going really high? Or is it some background singer? Either way, it sounds great, that's why I'm curious.

  • Asssss..........K your mother what it's called!

  • this scene was funnier in my friend's play of this.... the guy playin the bullfrog at the "roosting with a mate" part wrapped his leg around Ugly and kissed him on the cheek XD

  • I'm the bullfrog in my play- does the person playing the ugly ducking have a uni-brow?

  • we are doing this musical at my school!

  • I REALLY want to be the Bullfrog but this really funny guy is auditioning for him but I might audition for Dot

  • I remeber Playing the bullfrog in Honk, most fun ive ever had

  • that little girl singing at 4:44 - 4:47 is sooooo cute!!

  • what are those actors names? they are both very talented.

  • im trying out 4 this. the bullfrog looks like fun but i think i wanna be Ida. wat do u guys think?

  • I have auditions for this next month, and I would LOVE to be The Bullfrog... :D

  • Well I hop u get it. It seemed like a good play.also like ur name..." Be Loud Be Proud" :)

  • Thanks :D

  • i tried out for this play they said i was one of the best auditions and that i would of made it. the only problem was...i was too tall. :(

  • Comment removed

  • OctiveBlondes i'd say that Ida, Penny, Dot or Maureen. I got Grace, and for me, i don't like her because her charecter is really full of herself. but that's just my opinion.

  • i'm trying out for this play!! what's a good part to get?!?

  • guys- Ugly, bullfrog drake,cat

  • That frog is cool but extremely scary

  • Yeah....I coulnd't figure out what he was when I saw it in the related videos box.

  • I PLAYED THE BULLFROG!!!! I KICKED BUTT!!! i totally made it my part everyone still talks about it:)

  • omg same here. its like i cant rid of it =))

  • the frog creeps me out but the froglets are so cute and the singing is really good!

  • Wow! That's the best Bullfrog costume I've seen so far! The singing was above average, but I've seen better choregraphy.

  • Man thats was the worst dance ever, but the singing was good.

  • i just got back from our last performence of honk

! i cried i was so sad! But anyway i'd hate to come across that thing in a dark alley!

  • I LOVE Honk! I play Penny in my musical!

  • creeeepy frog. mine LOOKS better. yours SOUNDS better!

  • I was a froglet in mine.. I WAS THE SOLO FROG!

  • omg me too!

  • interesting take on the frog....not sure if i like it....it limits the actor. check out our bullfrog from this show!

  • Everyone who is saying theres is better you are ALL WRONG!This is better than and I was the FROG!You are just jealous!HA HA HA HA!

  • AHHH,that big scary lookin from is NOT right!when has anyone seen a play with the character in a full-on animal costume?wierdddd!

my school is working on ours i just got back from rehearsal i play the bull-frog i'd have to say were gonna be 10 times better then this (:

  • that frog is creeeeeping me out!

  • Yah..... He's creepy.... I think ours looks better.... No offense..... Yours sound great though...... =)

  • lol yes, way too much hand movement, and also, the assssssss-k ur mother whats it called was too long.

  • agreed...... WE OPEN TONIGHT!!!! Actually..... We open in exactly 2hours + 10mins!!!!! =)

  • MY HONK OPENS TONIGHT TOO!

  • Ours is a bit better - no offnece - its just that w've had proffesional choreographers and proffesional dancers for the kids.

  • The bullfrog isn't supposed be dressed as one...

  • that frog is so skinny

  • OH MAH GAH. That little froglet at the end was so SQUEE. epic cuteness ♥

  • i LOVE that costume :)

  • this is scary as hell--and WTF--costumes are only supposed to resemble the animal--this is not in sync with the other costumes--and it's fucking scary

  • this is so cool! one quick question: is this the finale? i have never really seen this show so i don't know. :D

  • no. it's done twice, and this is the first time.

i'm a froglet in my school's production. i must say, your costumes are better than ours!!! we're more broadway-type dancers, lots of kicklines and things like that.

i love the little kids, it's sooo cute. =]

  • in ours the froglets have hula hoops

  • The actor who played "Ducky" must of had SO mush energy...or be REALLY tired after the show (or both)!

  • hsi name in the show was "Ugly". the cat only calls him "ducky" as a nickname is all.

  • Oh, I'm sorry. I figured that the frog was ugly. well that cleasrs alot of things up. Thanks for pointing that out.

  • w00t got Ugly so happy

  • That is one scary-looking frog, and I don't remember the line "your ass-k your mother what it's called!".

  • heyy omg i did tis play two years ago. i was the frog :D it was soo fun

  • I've been watching this over and over again and I just relized I think it sounds like the frog in this show also played the cat but im not sure does anyone else hear that in the frogs voice? sounding like the cat in this show too?

  • Thr frog's voice did not paly the cat, but he was also Drake :)

  • @singindancinfool This was my favorite song to sing in the entire show.

  • I'm a musical lover, big time, I love HONK.

This is one of the best versions on YouTube.

Maybe I agree about the Frog costume, although it is very good.- I'd rather see the performer!

He has a great voice as does Ugly.

    LOve it

    Gerry

  • @Gerryrph I wasn't in the costume while singing. Due to the way the costume worked, we had someone else in it while I was offstage singing the song.

  • I remember in 8th grade we did honk jr. I was penny :3

  • My summer threatre group did the jr. version of this play and I was the Bullfrog. It was alot of fun. I looked like a leprechn.

  • 0:21

  • Ugh... I would hate to wear that costume, First it looks like it's impossible to move in, and the great thing of musical theatre is that you can see the actors faces, and this obviously does no justice. For the circumstances I think this is a great performance, but the costume is brutal...

  • THIS WAS DONE IN ST. ALBERT? Man, I should have gone...

  • Yeah in 2004 at the Arden Theatre

  • we just had the opening night and i played Penny :D

  • or i should say im not a big fan of the bullfrogs voice*

  • we just did this musical at my school and i played the part of the bullfrog and i have to say im not a big fan of the bullfrogs it has no character to it its kinda boring to listen to.

  • im queenie in my production, you guys did an awesome job, i think ive seen the whole thing now.. lol ;]

  • i've seen a lot of versions of this song. this is the best one i've ever seen! great job u guys!!! :D

  • I'm the cat in my production!

  • I don't know if I have made this clear enough for you, But this theatre company is simply amazing. And it is amazing for younger kids wanting to do theatre, or just wanting to have fun doing something different! The outcome of your rehearsals are always amazing and never flaw (in my opinion of flawing). I really want to see a live showing sometime. Where is all this done?

  • St. Albert, Alberta.

  • My girlfriend is a froggette in this play, she's going to be performing on saturday! =D

  • omg i can't belive it! honk on youtube! my school doing it and

  • this ugly is so cute and akward! great job! my school is doing honk this year! it will be soooo much fun!

  • yea!

    mine too

    its kinda ironic

i was reluctant to be in it at all... but wen i auditioned i got the lead roll!

now the nickname ugly is gonna b my nickname... forever xDD

  • that's exactly what happened to our ugly at my school! everyone goes "hey what's up ugly?" yeah... lol!

  • ohhh yea

    EVERYONNNEEE

    calls me ugly now

    my dad

my sister (who never talks to me)

    my mom

    my grandparents

    my aunt

    everyone at my school

    (including their parents!)

  • it's funny for us but not for ugly! lol!

i do that all the time to the guy at my school! he's all like, "yeah thanks!" i wish i was Ugly... oh well! i'm a goose instead!

  • thinking about it i keep coming back to comment cos i cannot believe this i just dont like it it gets on my nerves and this has been bugging me aint the costumes meant to be like a bit human and the frog is in some heffa suit :/ cb (and i aint arguing so reply nice pls) xxrobxx

  • This company was aiming towards a younger audience; generally the costumes were human-like with only animal traits, but the designers wanted the Bullfrog to be very visual. The kids in the audience loved it, so it was effective. Is it different? Yes. But the point of this show is to learn to embrace those who are different and accept them for their good qualities. Don't judge this production on one costume and I won't judge you on your abysmal grammar :)

  • Hahahahaha.

    The end of that reply.

    So true.

  • wow people certainly attack you, i guess they have nothing better to do for themselves, so they need to sit on youtube for half of their lives and harass others, you guys did a good job, and i dont think anyone other than a perfessional should critisize your performance.

  • I loved it but, the suit scares the crap out of me! Like McDougal from Max Keeble's Big Move! It looks HORRIBLE!

  • apart from the 1 big slip up mine is better than this cos we actually sing :/ and the costume isnt ridiculous either :)

  • What do you mean, you 'actually' sing? Everyone onstage except for the guy in the Bullfrog costume is singing, and the Bullfrog's voice is an offstage actor standing in the wings.

  • we r gonna do this play in Jr. form at my school, im so xcited it looks so cute! :P

  • I just finished doin this show yesterday i was one of the froglets and the show was really fun. I did the a show at the Maine State Music Theatre earlier i did Jesus Christ Superstar it was fun!

  • I love this!!!! I am doing this play too....and the words are a bit different, but I like how you guys did it....

  • Basically...the costume is KICK ASS

  • Hmmmm.Though I am girl and I am performing as The Bullfrog in Honk! (YES I AM!),I have to say this one thing,I can do better than this guy.Seriously,I'm a girl I can do a bit better.I mean this was good, but not that good.

  • My friend is too, she is seriously kick-ass compared to this guy.

  • Right.I mean that sucked.I swear ur friend and I can do better!

  • i completely agree its crap and the ugly sounds and looks like a camp version of harry potter :/

  • this is Awsome could the frog actually sing in that costrume?

  • No, the frog onstage and the voice are two different people. The actor singing the part is standing in the wings sining in an offstage mic.

  • What is up with his costume

  • when we did this it was better, not enough feeling

  • their good! Cool costume!

  • well im just giving my opinion and comparing this to other vids i have seen of this

  • i, happen to think the frog was well done. so if the frog is hearing all this about how bad he is don't listen. the accent thing was pretty cool, and you really got into character

  • no offece that was shit (apart from ugly he was wicked) the bullfrogs costume was a complete joke he couldnt sing and there was hardly no dance it was quite boring typical shitty americans live up to there stereotype!

  • I know! Besides, they're not even supposed to not have costumes.

  • OMG! I was in this production... Not at this school or whatever.... But in this musical. I was a froglett and Henrietta's daughter x}

  • Henrietta?

  • is the little kid who gets picked up a boy or girl?

  • a girl. She was 6 at the time

  • ya!!yay!!!!

  • you guys r like always so good!

  • im in honk jr!!

  • I agree.

They should have just done creative costuming instead of the muppet show special.

Although I have to admit, you all do have the most amazing productions from what I've seen.

    Perhaps you should do Pippin?

    haha

    Or the Fantasticks.

    Lovely show.

  • that bull frog scares the frick outta me...

  • opening night tomorrow for us! wahoo! our bullfrog is amazing, he plays the part so well

  • aww! i love the little kid who gets picked up! i know who the person who will be picked up in the honk jr. im in..this boy named james!

  • nvm i was wrong!!

  • im in this play! im a froglet though..

  • We are doing this play at WGMS in California

  • whoa i like the frog costume

  • I'm in honk! i am mother swan...Penny's mom

  • our school is doing HONK for the musical this year! :D A girl plays the part of the frog though :)

  • me and my friend sing this song in HONK jr.!!!!! rad!

  • I was in HONK two years ago when I was 10 in Fairmont WV at the public theater and our dancing was sooooo much better and we only had a 50 people cast which is small.

  • Ours was 39.

  • I think you should apologize to singindancinfool because the skill of the dancers was out of her control! If you are going to point out that you didn't think the dancing was good you could have at least said 1 nice thing about this stunning performance!!!

  • That was to bball1250 by the way

  • Omg! I love the costumes!

  • Thsi si amazing!

  • Im In Honk In March :D.. In The Dolman Theatre Newport

  • I was in a children's camp of this show over the summer, and this was definitely that best song in the show. Amazing job.

  • me and my friends have been debating, and, we are all in Honk! at the moment, and we have agreed, the guy who plays Ugly is amazing!!! how old is he? he acting, singing, expressions are just fab!

  • I believe he was 17 during this show, he really got into the character. If you want to talk to him his youtube account is CanadianDijon.

  • I was 17, yes.

  • WERE YOU THE FROG OR THE DUCK?

  • who were you in this show? my high school is doing it, and im queenie. ;]

  • amazing!!! loved it! great dancing, movement, staging, perfect! and that tiny froglet, omg, how cute can ya get!!!

  • hey chicostacos , this is probably one of the coolest most intersting productions ive seen on youtube ,keep you insults too youselfe .... rhey singindancefool ... did your thatre make most of the costumes ??? and wered they find all the sweet props especially the ones from the song "you can ply with your food"

  • Yes, most of the costumes were made, as well as the props. (including the giant spoon/pot). The lilypads in this song are covered hula hoops, the umbrella things are made from canes and leaves. The frog costume was made by a puppeteer as well as the fish in 'Hold your Head up High'. The tree stumps that are seen in many scenes were made for a previuos production and reused.

    Thank-you for your complments :)

  • wtf is with the frog's costume

  • the singing is good in this one.

  • What is with his costume

  • ya once again the frog's voice doesnt fit the music but other than that hes good. WTF was up with his costume

  • wow. huge cast.

    i liked it.

im in theis show right now.

  • well god forbid that i misspelled utter, but this angered me at the fact that the bullfrog is in a huge costume. last time i checked, the whole point of honk was basically not to have those costumes. besides, i have alot of things to read and reply because i work, i have school, and i also like to have fun, so i dont have time to write with perfect spelling and grammar, thank you very much

  • Yet you have time to insult productions that didn't do things exactly the way you think it should be done? Yes we chose to make the frog froggy, no Honk is not usually done like that. It's nothing to get angry about.

  • is he even singing???

  • Everyone on stage is singing with the exception of the frog, the one singing the part of the frog if off stage singing into a microphone, and is coincidentally also the one who played Drake. As to your other comment, do you mean utter when you say udder? Because as far as I know there's no cows in this play :)

  • this is the exact opposite of honk...

honk is about the acting, not the costumes

    besides they didnt even sing!

this is a parade of udder crap and disgusting acting

  • on stilts?
