Wow... I had one similar to that one, but it was more bulky and very heavy. It was my first keyboard ever. Dad bought it for ten dlls on a yard sale. Cool.
I got one of these today for 5 Bucks. Its fantastic, and normally I go for Korgs , Emus and Ableton. Its got a great soulful sound and if you run it through a few effects (flutter being a favourite of mine) its unbeatable. EQ out the fan ! cheers.
use some hairspray on the keys if you want the marker to come off, I got a caso MT- 100 for 50 cents and it had every key labeled with permanent marker... but it's gone now.
So THAT's what it is! A reed organ! I saw a General Electric X4000N or something at Goodwill for $15...I was EXTREMELY, and I mean extremely, tempted to get it, but I ddidn't. It must have been 4x the thickness of yours.
That thing is dinged up pretty bad. My grandma has a wooden hammond chord organ in her kitchen, It has about sixty chords, twenty stops, and two pedals I love hammering out a nice song when I can finally find the correct chord to depress. The wood is perfect, no damage, but it takes a half minute to build up air, when you first start it.
I've had one and I also know where there is one and the local junk store. I looked at it, but the guy wanted 25.00! I thought, hmmm, now I think I'l go get it anyway. It's smaller but could make for some fun stuff later on. Enjoyed your video...
haha man I used to have one of them when I was like 8, I'm really annoyed I got rid of it. You can make some awsome sounds with them. I even had a stand.
I bought one quite similar to yours once. However, I got rid of it because it was terrible out of tune. I have since bought another one (also slightly out of tune) for next-to-nothing. I use it in one of my videos here on YouTube.
holy shit dude. 5 bucks is a steal. if i were you i would take it apart for fun and try some circuit bending to get different tones. if you dont need it that much. =/
you cant circuit bend an acoustic instrument! although ive been wondering what i could do to extend the tonal possibilities of mine (ive got the exact same thing except with less notes)
im thinking of adding in a spring reverb and contact mic, theres so much space inside itd be cool to add some digital delay or something and mount it in the top. just painted the sucker sky blue too and its beautiful!
Cool sound. Looks like a Bontempi 9 model.

This takes me back to when I was a child! I had the same Bontempi. Even the sound it makes when you turn it on is so retro!

Cool! I have a smaller version that I also picked up at a sale. Unfortunately the entire thing seems to be tuned sharp.

At first I thought "crap"... an electric accordion/melodica type of thing. But as it turns out I really like what I heard at around 3:20.
The rather organic reed sound in combination with the monotonic sustain due to the electric blower in that thing has something to it.
Nice! :)
