Ya got me thinking, so I went back and checked - apparently LDS does have doctrinal stuff written by Joseph Smith and compiled as "The Pearl of Great Price" by Franklin Richards (not the son of the Fantastic Four) in 1851. Since Smith's writing is from 1830-1842, I'd say the Gospel of Matthew written somewhere between 80-100 C.E. whoops it alright. And btw, ALL of us need to read our Bibles more my brother - it ain't just you! ;-)
"The Message" is also NOT a Bible. The Koran/etc is NOT a bible, though I've heard people call it "the Muslim Bible". Noe is the iChing, etc. Also, the 9 books of apocrypha in Roman Catholic Bibles are NOT scripture.The Jews never treated them as such. So, they don't belong. I'll never endorse any belief which is not Christian, including not only Muhammedism, Taoism, etc, but especially ones that pervert Christianity aka: Mormonism, Witnesses, Rob Bell, & Brian McLaren. RE: your comment. It's been over 20 yrs since I read the Book of Mormon to know what they believe. I myself am referring to the parable in Matthew 13, specifically v.45-46:
Mat13:45 - Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:(46) Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it. (KJV)
There are a number of interpretations to this parable, but I am working from a fairly common one that designs the merchant as being a sensible sinner who is seeking the true way to salvation, and finding Christ (the great pearl) parts joyfully with everything he has to follow Him.
So regardless of what Mormonism may say, what I am saying in the video is indeed Christian. I appreciate very much your taking the time to voice your concern regarding this, and I think
