@ellis2k3 Probably one of the more random & incorrect comments I've seen in a while. Not only is the music so different, it's a million times as dull & uninspired both lyrically & vocally. The instrumentation's alright, though.
@shadymathers72 I think it's just right at the end that the album version kicks in - perhaps the audio from the live recording was lost or something but you can definitely tell that up until the ending it's all live.
Im kinda sad that the last part has the audio overdubbed. Wanna hear how they sounded at the end. But oh well. Still amazing.
You can really tell right at the end that its dubbed because when the last "What was your name" line is sang the sound goes longer than Casey's mouth is at the mic
Driving from Houston to San Antonio in August to see these guys (for the first time), Porcupine Tree (2nd) and Coheed (5th). Could NOT be more excited. These guys are epic.
@jcreighton9090 Very likely to be the best show ever in existence ever. Looking forward to seeing every single person there. I will be friends with all.
You can still hear and feel the live atmosphere and you can hear variations in the harmonies between the band members that aren't in the studio version.
@ohohmynow The Dear Hunter is amazing, but Between the Buried and Me may rival them for live execution. It is nearly impossible to differentiate the live version of their album Colors from the studio version. Just incredible. Regardless, so happy that proshot videos of their shows exist.
@hnbsniper I put Coheed slightly ahead, because they are all practically virtuosos on their instruments, particularly Chris Pennie and Claudio sanchez, and i prefer Claudio's lyrics. The Dear Hunter are far more consistent live, but Coheed can reach far greater heights. A really good Coheed show is a fucking religious expierience.A lot of this has to do with the crowd energy, which coheed obviously has in spades. All in all,two ridiculously awesome bands.

@judicaboodi94, i think casey explained that on thelakeandtheriver a while ago. that explanation is pretty much spot on. i could be misremembering though.
@tapirdrummer Him and Matthew Bellamy (from muse) are the two best live singers in my opinion. They have both come to be my favorite bands too. The musical composition in both bands are different, but very nice.
any chance of finding a copy of this whole show somewhere? the quality is insanely better than all the youtube live perfomances (since most of those are proabably taken from cell phones and stuff).. thanks.
I was at this show, and this video, while AWESOME, doesn't even come close to capturing how mindblowing these guys are live. I drove 9 hours for that show and it was completely worth it. I'll br driving another 6 to see them in Buffalo with Coheed, and I know it won't be in vain.
I was there :)

The backup singer seems to not be doing Anything :') Casey makes up for it, CASEY CAN DO HIS OWN DAMN BACKUP SINGING

Does anyone know how to play this song on guitar? I've always wanted to learn, but I can't find tabs or covers anywhere.

Of course the ending is over-dubbed. Unless Casey somehow learned how to double-track his own voice live.
(Hint: That's impossible)
