I remember this game on SNES. The game play was so far above what the '94 version was and they added the season play where you could do trades and such.

93 and 95 were amazing! I love the around the net glitch where their defense blocks their goalie leaving a wide open net. My friends and I would make a rule no wrap arounds.

Did anyone ever get burned by the "You're too good" glitch? One year, I finished with 130+ points and after the conclusion of the regular season, the standings had me in last place in the division. All that work of going through an entire 82-game campaign and I didn't even get to compete in the postseason. I don't know exactly what amount of wins or points triggered this glitch but there were other times when I just had an average/good record and got to play the postseason.

@psuzeppelin5 I'm really not sure. It only happened to me once. I think I won 66 games that season. I've seen the glitch mentioned on some websites but they don't mention a magic number that triggers it.

@MrMatt8204 No, but I have had a similar stat issue on NHL09. I had a 313 point season (they put sidney crosby on my wing) which should have included a similarly mammoth +/- rating, but the +/- for that season was something like -400, which was more than the goals allowed for the entire season. Weird stat keeping methods EA has. :l

Wow. what a blast of nostalgia. I remember playing the shit out of this game on the SEGA when I was just a kid. My dad & I must have played a thousand games on here. Always Bruins & Canadians. Winner always got to be the Bruins next game. Those tunes & sounds have been stuck in my head ever since.

You have to be able to fly the space shuttle to play the new ones.

lol since this game is so old youll notice at 1:15 that they say Welcome to a sold out The Spectrum", instead of just a soldout Spectrum home of the Flyers lol I like how you have the philly pitt n or ny rivalry for hockey and the philly dallas rivalry in football. i still do tht and i liked playing Eagles vs. Vikings in when i was a kid on madden 94' b/c of the helmets, the wing vs the horn lol

And i liked the old rams and patriots helmet too. dude im a helmet guy starting collecting gumball helmets when i was 3 and stopped when they became scarce a few yrs ago. i have about 200 of them, no lie. I have 8 replica small helmets too of all my fav teams, but i need to get the old bucs, old 97 ravens, and 90s green Jets, theyre so much better then their curents imo

@psuzeppelin5 Yeah, cutting in was practically a gaurenteed goal. However, the CPU defense usually did a good job to try and prevent you from doing that. Well, at least in the 94 version.

Wow, a trip down memory lane! I remember every song from the menu screens! I like NHL 94 way better though. The intermission highlights, the sound effects, the zamboni lol. 95's graphics didnt look better, it just looked different, and I still prefer 94's. Although 95 had a season mode, create a player, and trades, it just wasn't as fun as 94.

I've got a Mega Drive/Genesis, and I've seen a few NHL games on Ebay. The one in best condition, and cheapest, is NHL '95. I was wondering if you think I should go for this one (It's £4.95), or wait until one of the others is put up for sale.

Basically, which NHL Genesis games are the best, and is this one worth buying?

@garishyellowshirt alright... 95 is fun, but in my opinion, it's not the best one... if you can get it, buy NHL 94... it's the best one by far... other than that, 96 (97 and 98 are just like it), 93, 95, and 92 are probably the best in order from best to worst... all great games though

i have been playing nhl 95' on my sega genesis pal version and the goals a little bit larger and music is slower
