  • HMMM.Lol, Methinks you might be looking through myopic maroon and white eyes? ;) Take another look. Brown tackles and grounds Ridge then tries to jump into marker with a hold of his jersey but the cheating Kiwi takes off while Brown tries to get a reaction from Mason. Dud call. Always was, always will be.

  • That dud call on Ridge not being held by Nathan Brown still fires me up. A howler. Referee Manson was lucky to get off the field unaccosted. Ridge didn't have to worry about getting accosted by any of his team on GF night though, some mates and I were drowning our sorrows at the Unicorn pub in Paddo when who should walk in with some strap hangers? Matthew Ridge. Clearly a popular member of his side, as they whooped it up at Brookvale without him. Better side won though...sniff

  • @sirwallabyaggots The conclusion I could come up with was. Nathan Brown did not become marker quick enough, (if your notice Nathan starts running away (wuss that he is) whilst Ridge pauses for a second notices Nathan not becoming marker and than takes off) so it was considered a tackle but since there was no marker he took off again.

  • do any of you remeber craig handcock ??

    his my boyrfriends dad :)

  • @JarmiJammers Yeah he was the Winger for Manly in this Match! My cousin plays for the current Manly team.

  • I watch this vid a lot - my fav metallica song and my fav footy team. Doesn't get ANY better. Well done bro.

  • @handlebarWM Thanks! I wish I could have had better recording equipment back then, so it could look and sound a whole lot better! I should have done one for the 40-0 flogging of Storm!

  • Nearly 5000 views!! excellent!

  • that was one hell of a side

  • maybe st illawarra dragons steelers might win their 1st premiership one day, but it wont be this year. Manly 2010 Premiers

  • @Philip2096 lol owned

  • why did the saints kick short at the start i am still wondering. ridge the cheat was held and the only people in the stadium that thought he wasnt. was the ref and ridge.

manly were the best side that year though

  • I would have to disagree if you notice that is was a pretty poor tackle, Ridge wasn't held properly, held was never called, and Nathan Brown didn't go to marker therefore he was allowed to continue. It's a pretty flimsy excuse, but its the best I can come up with. I don't have the full footage from the game, only what it is on this clip. so I can't go to the 'video ref'!!'

  • it was a typical saints tactic. in the old days there were two things you could be sure of with them in a game. They always kicked short and always went the blind side from a scrum.

  • Ridge...held much?

  • Hey mate thanks for going to the effort to put this together!

    Maaaaaaaanly, Maaaaaaanly, Maaaaaaanly

    bring on 2010

  • what was the black & white metallica video at the start?

  • It was the film clip for Metallica's Hero Of The Day, I actually copied over the video when I made this

  • Well done champion.

  • very well done,2008 was so much sweeter tho

  • Geoff Toovey was a star in this Grand Final. He deserved the Clive Churchill Medal. The funniest thing was when Nathan Brown thought he tackled Matthew Ridge but referee David Manson allowed ridge to play on.

  • arko looked very disappointed in the result

  • This is the only grand final ive watched were only 1 team could have won the game !!!

  • Yep this match was a foregone conclusion.

  • This is beautiful! I've been looking for footage of this grand final forever. Go THE MIGHTY SEA EAGLES and thank you very much for the upload.

  • @disith fuck em go storm

  • @rsgamezguidez yeah, good luck with that!
