@musiclover05100 - It's hard to find fault with an SUV with this much power, but I guess we will give you the prize. I do think they could add a trim package that would make it a lot sportier.
They ran with the popularity of the last SRT8, making it appear like its fast. The earlier models had a "sleeper" look that was appealing. You could only tell it was a SRT8 when you saw the brake calipers. Oh and when on speeds by you on the highway and your going 85.
Not a fan of the look of this model. The other one was great looking and this one, for an SRT8 model, looks exactly like a regular Cherokee. Has a boring/plain look to them, not sure if they were trying to go for a sleeper look(snooze) but they sure got it.
@frostypowermike - Well, it seems that a lot of people are voting with their pocketbooks and buying these at a brisk clip. As for the regular Cherokee, I love the exterior, the interior and the way it handles, both on and off road.
Please "Subscribe" and I will try to cove some different styles in the future.
PS: What would make you like this vehicle - I will pass it along to the Chrysler- Jeep people.
The overall look of the jeep in standard limited application is much better than the previous model. The 06-10 SRT8 definitely looks better from the back (ONLY BECAUSE OF THE EXHAUSTS) but the front end of this model is much better than the outgoing model. I hope jeep uses this forum as a HEADS UP please change the back exhausts. This is also a much more usable vehicle, now if I had the money I would definitely go for the range rover sport due to its off road capability.
@Silencedizzy - It's a great vehicle, and we can hope that Jeep will tweak this design more to your liking in the future.
Personally, I'm looking forward to testing one in the near future and doing a video review. You may want to subscribe to my channel so you will get alerted when I post it.
The exhaust was unique on the past model, but you can actually tow with this one. I like the vehicle but would wait until the 8-speed was available. When that happens, this will run 0-60 in 4.4 easy, and get better fuel economy.
The new ones are ugly compared to the old ones.... ugly rims, they ruined the exhaust, and really who the hell wants a trailer hitch on their SRT!?!?!
I finally saw the new SRT8. The rims are awful and the old exhaust is just way better looking. However, this Jeep SRT8 does come with keyless entry and push to start. I think it even comes with the remote start. All and all, it's hot, but it is going to cost you $60K out the door. I dunno, but I cannot see myself paying $60K. Only people with lots of cash to burn will be buying this. I do not see the average smart consumer dropping this much money.
@chulilum - Thanks for your comment. It is interesting you hear from someone who looks at this from the consumer perspective. @Matt22964 - Don't talk about her like that! She may a lot, but she's very sensitive and has a nice personality. Not to mention she's very popular with the boys here. ;-)
@AutoTravelTV Lol! There ya go! sensitive ha ha! I own the 2010! I scare grannies with it, I ADORE THE CAR! With the 2012 they have smoothed over the hard edges and lost that Grrr appeal ! I know I know! it had to happen! but mate people are getting excited because it can tow stuff.....a caravan perhaps?...I'm gonna stick with mine and get her supercharged.
@AutoTravelTV Ha Ha! ok you have a deal! Im in Dubai UAE so I have to find someone who knows what they are doing first to supercharge it. I'll race but NO BENDS ok! ;)
@Matt22964 - No bends sounds good to me. I'm not skilled at track racing anyway. I hope to move to Navasota, TX by January. Maybe I can make some friends at Texas World Speedway and get some drag track time there. Let me know when you get to Texas.
@victarnewmon - Do a Google search for "1000 hp suv" and check out the video of the race between a Nissan GT-R and a 1000 hp Escalade. Now that's a REAL SUV. :-)
he done a nice job especially trying to get the dude to fess up on the gas mileage now gas approaching 5 a gallon on just going up and you know this thing used premium. he wouldn't come clean he just chuckled lol i had a hemi magnum with that fuel saving thing cutting from 8 down to 4 but in city driving i never notice any savings. EPA on this truck 8 12 lol.
@rammstein11004 - Thanks, I wasn't intentionally trying to put Chris on the spot, but that's a question I always ask in car interviews. Thanks for you input and info. Please subscribe to my channel to keep up with my new videos. - Lynn David Cole
Yea i dont understand the EPA on this 2012 is 12 -18... If it cuts down to 4 cylinders on the freeway why is it getting only 18 mpg ?? My 5.9 Magnum in my 98 Grand gets 18mpg on the freeway with all 8 cylinders.. lol
Also most vehicles these day that "require" high octane fuel arent really required... they have knock sensors which retard the timing so you can use lower octane fuel if you want. Unlike my 5.9 v8 which doesnt have knock sensors.. so i HAVE to use 93
@DarkKnightsJeep - The Grand Cherokee SRT8 is an interesting vehicle and there are a lot of people that love the concept of a hot-rod SUV. - Lynn David Cole
Have you guys seen the MSRP release for this thing?!? $55,295 That's $10K over any of the other SRT models, not including dealer markups, options, or anything else. Not worth it IMO.
@AutenBrian3 I was a bit shocked at the price myself, but for those who are performance minded (like myself), it is totally worth it. Spend $55,000 on any other new SUV and it won't be anywhere near as powerful, fun or luxurious as this Jeep.

@AutoTravelTV i really appreciate your information and the link u gave me, i do have many questions i guess they would all be answered the day i buy the srt8. thanks again!!

By the way, thanks for subscribing. - Lynn David Cole
8-Speed highly likely for 2013MY w/ Paddle Shifters. Keep your 2010 and wait for the 8-Speed. Jesus fucking christ, bringing up mpg with a vehicle like this.
@dobbins2550 - Although economy was not the primary design target for the SRT8, it's always nice to have fuel efficiency with all that power. I was once pleasantly surprised when I tested a 2008 Ford Shelby Mustang GT, to find that it got better gas mileage that some of the V6's I tried. I will always believe that this was the result of good engineering. PS: The mileage is not so good when you goose it. That's a choice you can make and it's nice when you can have it both ways sometimes. :-)

I agree with the rest of the comments saying that the older body style looks way better. The 2012 looks more plain and more like a regular Jeep.

For those interested fuel economy, here are the latest:\ EPA Fuel Economy MPG:
City - 12

Not bad for a huge performance SUV. :-)
