  • I'm joining the marines in 3 years<3

  • @Smwilson0194

There is no honor in occupying a country and killing innocent people. I have been there, done that, and ashamed of it all. We don't fight in the name of freedom, we fight in the name of global domination and money for the world leaders. Americans need to wake the fuck up, These wars are unconstitutional and wrong no matter how you try and justify it to yourself. I can honestly say I'm not proud for killing for my county. This government is going to get worse until a revolution

  • @77musica no such thing as a former marine OORAH

  • Marines roughly 50 years ago saved my grandfathers village from the Japanese in WWII... If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be the Marine I am today. Thank you to all the men and women serving today, and Semper Fidelis to the United States Marine Corps.

  • If you get the actual movie you will notice(since the picture is bigger) that the brother is partly shaking and crying. I would like to say thank you to all those people hwo served for us.

  • fuck politics ......once a soldier always a soldier ....a big salute for all the men and women of us armed forces wishes from india

  • ooooooooooooooorah to all Marines, from a former Marine

  • "Patriots always talk of dying for their country and never of killing for their country".

    Bertrand Russell

  • You see something like that once and it will stick with you the rest of your life. I know this sounds like a dick thing to say but I am so glade that out of the 4 of us brothers I am the only soldier, I don't think I could do that.

  • Okay probbly the two tht hated this is because they had someone die also if so im sorry but if not the GO FUCK YOURSElF

  • This movie breaks the heart

  • Semper fi.

  • please upload the whole movie

  • This is to the two heartless communist basterd that dislike. Go fuck yourself its because of our troops you can dislike something this sad and touching. Cried thru half this movie.

  • I just finished watching this movie.

I cried like 8 times :'). So glad they was so much honor, though.

  • @iBeliebinJustin can you please upload the whole movie i will really appreciate if you do that THANKS in advance

  • @iBeliebinJustin sir/madam can you please upload the whole movie thank you

  • "Yes sir, it's my brother." I am trying to sit here and think of words but there are none.

  • who are the two mo*****ers that disliked this dont let me fking find you

  • I don't think any one knows what it's like to be a soldier until you experience it or see something as good as this. I'm joining the Army as soon as I can and I tell everyone this and they'll either say something like "you wanna kill somebody" or "gonna get shot". It really makes me disappointed in the education these people get, and they'll probably never understand............I could care less but it does get annoying. They need to have this in theaters.

  • @WaffenCommander its on dvd, people ask me why do i want to serve and why do i want to kill people? my answer is the same, we hate what is in front of us. But because we love what is behind us. Hooah

  • @WaffenCommander

Your are so right and so smart. I commend you for your future service. Thank you and know that I appercaite you and there are others.

  • it's always sad when someone dies... even more a young KIA. i liked this movie, but i hope no more die to make another one like it.

  • I watch this movie at my brothers house and was crying the whole way through it

  • I've been in 20 years in the Army with 4 combat tours under my belt. Although my troops and family have never seen my raw compassion outside the uniform, I am truly a human being. As I go up the rank and move from unit to unit, I try not to shed any tear around my troops. Not to be a hard arse. It's to be firm for those who are too upset to stand up. I will mourn on my own.

  • 2 people are terrorists and need to be shot!

  • My dad was a Marine who joined because he was poor and needed a job because he met my mom and he didn't want to let her down. It was in 1962 or something I think. He went to the Santa Domingo "incident" and then off to Nam. I only say "was because he has since passed - he got pancreatic cancer & died in 2006. He taught me to hate guns & war but he also told me that the US needed and will always need to use military force to rid the world of psychos & terrorists becus they cant be reasoned with

  • As hard as it is too watch for me, I can only think how hard it is for the loved ones

  • @PurpleSausage Er... no, I don't think he was ever an escort for the fallen, but I'm glad you think so highly of him that you'd assume he was.

  • I know the feeling I was there.

  • @PurpleSausage Fuck off you are a peice of shit. You keep making stupid remarks behind your screen, while REAL Americans are dying four our country.

I wish I had the bravery to do what our troops do.

  • I don't get it... he's really his brother, or he claims to be his brother menaging "we were both soldiers"?

  • @kskdtr his birth brother.

  • @kskdtr The army sergeant was related to the body that he was escorting home. Thats why he said "our family" is waiting for us.

  • @PurpleSausage Shut the fuck up. Quit blaming Bush for your problems; those men and women are proud to serve their country, even die for it. If you had half the honor they do, you'd be over there right now.

  • Nobody who signed on to expect come home that way, but...they did gave their all for the country, that's the least the country could do.

  • if i hadn't been sitting in class while watching this for the first time, i think i would've just started bawling..this scene is so sad..

  • I live in Dover, Delaware, which is where they bring all the fallen soldiers too. It's heart breaking just to know that on each plane that's flying over my house, at least one of them is coming with one of the fallen.

  • @sipple91786 You do not know the feeling you get every time you have to go overseas,to look at wife and daughter or son in the eye and tell them I see you later, last time I was there I came home on vacation and when my day to return on theater came I rushed to the escalator and boarded the plane without looking back,I went to the airplane lavatory and she a few tears! You don't know the feeling and next year I would be going on my third tour.We have to do what we have to do.

  • omg this is a very good movie i cried the whole time you need NEED to see it and for those two people who disliked it, how dare you U HAVE NO NO NO RESPECT TO THE USA OR DEAD VETS

  • I don't get how 2 people can't like this video!!!!

  • R.I.P Chance Phelps. He will never be forgotten!

Seem like "Thank you" doesn't even come close. But....... Thank you.

  • is this guy (the army one) the same actor as in "The Messenger"?

  • the best moments that moved me was when he wouldnt take his jacket off and when he was escorted on the road with the other cars

  • Best movie about soldiers,

  • This brings memories when I had to do 4 funeral details when 248 101st soldiers died in a plane crash coming back from a Peace Keeping Mission in Egypt. The first soldier to be buried in Portland, OR. We arrived and the family greeted us. The Father came up to me and I notice he was wearing his son Air Assault Wings. He ask did I know his Son and what was he like? All I could do was say that I was sorry that I did not know his Son! I wish I did know his Son so I could tell him what he was like.

  • It is very sad that I could not tell this Father about his Son. But I could at least give Honors to his Son by doing this Funeral Detail the best we 10tst soldier can provide for the family. Watching this Movie have brought back memories and sometime tears! I ask myself why? Why this happen to the Good. Maybe it is a guilt complex for surviving in the Army for 30 years. Now that I am retired my Son is now in the Army and I pass the torch to him to defend this great Country.

    SSG Duke (RET)

  • Why do you flag yourself "ultimate dumbass" when you are clearly not? You are a patriot.

  • He didn't return the salute.

  • @FylthyBeest First time. It may have been edited out. Wonderful movie.

  • very good movie. I ship out to Parris Island, SC Jan. 24th, 2011. can't wait to help serve my country

  • 1 know that there are many fallen soldiers. For me, I remember Robert Dean Stethem, who was murdered by Hezbollah terrorists on flight TWA 847 on June 15th, 1985. Stethem was in the Navy. When the highjackers discovered Stethem was American military, they beat him severely. When he wouldn't succumb to the beating, they shot him and dumped his body on the tarmac. I was watching TV when I saw the Hezbollah terrorists do this. I will never forget Stethem, or his sacrifice, in fighting Islam.

  • Yeah....My older brother is in the Army right now. I leave for basic in finally 3 months. Ive enlisted with 11b with Airborne, trying to get air assault. So my bro and I can be part of the 101st Arbne together. Make it easier on mum.

  • my armpits smell like burgers! lol

  • anybody know where i can watch this online?

  • GOD bless all the Brother and Sister Marine and other Armed Services around the world thank you for your service and protection of your country

  • Awww :'(

  • i was waiting for the live telecast of the World Cup Germany vs. Spain match and HBO had this on queue. Decided to watch it instead of a cooking show on the foodnetwork and ...damn! seriously tore at me ... i never knew how much honor and dedication is carried out when a fallen marine or soldier takes his last journey home. . Thank you ... all of you for keeping us safe... semper fi

  • Army and Marines together, all Americans.

  • What does the LTC say when he is saluting the deceased at about 2:07,2:15, then again at 2:59, 3:12?

  • @huskie44 The command at 2:07 and at 2:59 was " Present Arms" the command at 2:15 and 3:12 the command was "Order Arms"

  • @huskie44 present arms, order arms.

they might exaggerate arms to sound like harms

  • Its a move that needs to be seen, and it was hard to watch and even the four minutes posted here brought me to tears...

    thanks for posting

  • this was my biggest worry while my Son was in Iraq. I did not want to have to bring my Son home in this manner. thank God it was not his time. this scene really make you feel for all the familys that had deal with this. my heart goes out to them.

    Semper Fi

  • @exmarinebulldog tell your son thanks

  • Excellent movie, done with respect and compassion, arguably Kevin Bacons best performance. I damn near started crying when that young soldier said it was his brother he was escorting home.

  • I'v lost two soldiers and as one myself its just like im losing my brother

  • this is the saddest movie i'v ever seen i cried from his

  • Let's pray that all service men and women return home soon in safety. We remember all those fallen - in these recent wars and those of the great wars past, of our fathers and grandfathers, too.

  • Just finished watching this film in addition to the added extras on the dvd. I cannot lie. I went through at least half a box of tissues. I've had this movie in my possession via Netflix for a few weeks and had put it off because I knew what I was in for. I am not sorry that I finally got around to watching it. It is unbearably moving. It is a story that everyone should know and watch, and pass the word on.

    continued...

  • It is an honor to know that this young man was my fellow American, and the dignified members of service and civilians who showed their most heartfelt respect for USM Phelps lends hope that there still is some humane decency left on this earth. God Bless you, and your comrades. My deepest respect goes out to all. Thank you for your service, Marine. Thank you Col. Strobl for sharing the experience. I know that I will never forget this story.

  • I just saw the movie, I cried alot while I was watching, I just like to urge everyone to SUPPORT U.S TROOPS and PRAY FOR THEM, please.

  • Just want to say thanks to all soldiers who were killed on duty. I'm from Italy and when I watched this movie I get the difference between you and us. When our guys died in Nassyria, someone in Italy was happy because of the politics. You guys unlike us mourn for your soldiers!!!

God bless all fallen soldiers of every nation or race they are!!!

    Greetings from Italy

  • this movie really hit me hard my big bro was a marine he was killed in afghanistan a few months ago and a friend of his told that he said before he died was fer me not to be sad but happy that he was goin to a better place and that he would watch over me

  • This scene made me cry =[

  • This movie was one of few which made me cry, as I go to Kapooka (Australian Army Boot Camp) to be a grunt this really touched me to see that boys are dying over there and I can't do anything about it until I'm in... God Bless all fallen soldiers "Salute"

  • Thank you america and thank you american soldiers for your sacrfise. No words can express, how much you mean to me. Regards from germany. It makes me so sad seeing the best ones dying and those liberal fucks living, bullshiting just to gave themselfs morale pushups.

Ich wünsche den amerikanischen Familien viel Kraft und ein ehrendes Andenken an die Gefallenen.

    God bless you all

  • FUCK IRAQ KILL EM ALL LIVE NO ONE ALIVE GREAT JOB SOLDIERS AND IF U DONT LIKE THE FACT THIS COUNTRY WENT TO WAR WILL PACK YOUR WORTHLESS SHIT AND GET THE FUCK OUT OF THIS COUNTRY rcdespanyol4ever STAY IN EUROPE U FUCK

  • @BIRTC5GALAXY shut the fuck up. Did you not see how I grew up there because of the MILITARY? i'm going to join the military one day so shut the fuck up

  • This is one of the sadest scenes a brother bringing back his brother home sucks SUPPORT OUR TROOPS HONOR OUR FALLEN

  • Such a powerful film and this scene may be the most compelling. Regardless or your belief in support of the curent engagements, if you cannot realize that you should support the troops at the forefront (who don't decide why we go to war) then you should do yourself a favor and leave this country. God bless our troops.

  • question, why do some Marines where dress blues and he (kevin bacon) doesn't, is this a completely seperate uniform, less formal than dress blues? thx in advance

  • What Kevin Bacon wheres is called the Service Dress, its more formal than BDUs(or nowadays MARPAT-camo) but not as formal as Dress Blues. Every branch has a service uniform and dress blues. For example Air Force has the Blue Service Dress but later has the formal almost tuxedo like uniform for very formal situations, the army untill recently had the green service dress and blue formal dress, the navy had black service and white formal dress....

  • awesome thanks so does the dress in USMC rank sort of

    MARPAT- camo

    Service

    DressBlues

  • Don't you dare talk like that!!! My boyfriend is going to Iraq to fight for your right to say that. He happens to believe Bush made good decisions and it is because of Bush that you are safe today. People like you are the reason the world is in this state today.

  • Well you're boyfriend is wrong. My dad was in the military for 27 years, I grew up in Europe because of the military. Your boyfriend being in Iraq doesn't free me or protect me and while I appreciate his service, that doesn't take away the fact that the War in Iraq is morally wrong. Iraq never threatend my security or freedom, and If we weren't in Iraq I could still have the right to criticize Ex President Bush.

  • @breanna2235 i fully agree with u my big brother was killed in afghanistan and if i dont do good in the pbr this year im enlistin in the marines and people say bush was a bad president if he was so bad why was he reelected

  • @TheMarine1227 Bush really was a bad president-he was reelected because he was people are morons. He left office with a 20% approval rating... in fact I don't think its appropraite to say he was "reelected" considering he was appointed in 2000

  • i remembered watching this in government class. There was not one dry eye in the classroom, including me. This part was the one that punched everyone ion the heart. So powerful. Great movie.

  • god bless everyone serving this nation

  • I did not quite understand this. In the movie, Lieutenant Colonel Strobl asked the brother if he was related to the deceased. Did he mean Lance Corporal Phelps, or the personnel that the brother was escorting?

  • the other escort was escorting his own brother.

  • absolutely stunnig movie ! that is what I want to say, then I'm speachless :((((

  • I would have to agree, it is very sobering

  • I'd say something... but your broken English is so hard to understand.

Pay more attention in school, and less time on the computer. Once you can use proper English, you might be able to make a point.

  • i watched this with my mom, and it tor my mom apart, actualy seeing what would happen if that were to happen to me when i leave..it actualy choked me up great movie!

  • BelRabimMarduk.. "another rat barried royaly". thats what seperates us, we honour every man, woman, and child, where as you dont give a shit.

  • Geez i'm getting alot of negative tention on this page fighting is everywhere even in neutral countries and there is a war going on somewhere around the world every day of every year, just because you haven't read about it doesn't mean it's not happening.I came onto the page to check out a trailer and have read loads of people mouthing off to each other.Take a break this is Youtube not NatzisR us or the IRA or some terrorist organization page.Seriously relax.

  • ...wtf is your point? You obviously see things completely different from EVERYONE else, but that's probably because you have no rights and your government runs/ruins your country. Give it 100 years and Russia wont exist, there's more people dieing than being born. Don't call the deceased rats, do you not have any morals?

  • Semper Fidelis.

Rest in peace to all fallen marines & all other serving vets.

My cousin died over seas defending our country.

    R.I.P. SFC. Jason Martin

    72th Marine Recon

  • i respect all the men that fight this movie had me in tears

  • You are the most disgusting and poor excuse for a human I have ever seen. You know something, maybe we should have gone over there after Sept 11th. Hopefully if it happens again, we won't. Hopefully the President will order the thermonuclear anilation of the middle east

  • ye, you hope to much and want too much. cant even get of the PC and join the millitary fucking fat fuck! Did you loose anyone in september 11? did you mother fucker loose anyone in Iraq war? well i did, so shut the fuck upp! and dont talk politics if you cant put two and two tugether. 9/11 terrorists were mostly saudi terrorists and no fucking iraqis were with them, so go and read a fucking book or something!

  • You are a horrible individual and if your people were taking care of their own problems it wouldn't require the action of the US military. P.S. you need to retake your english class because it sucks!

  • Well listen, you're missing the whole point about this movie, it's NOT about Iraq, whether you agree with the war or not, it's about treating our veterans with dignity and respect when they have fallen in service. This same level of dignity and respect would be given to any fallen veteran irregardless of the situation. War is horrible, I don't think anyone would disagree with you on that front and I know the Iraqi people have suffered horribly.

  • Your a complete moron. I lost someone in 9/11 and lost men under my command in both Iraq AND in Afghanistan. You don't have your facts either. These men died to give you the ability to get on this browser and type anything you want without fear of rebuttal. Don't ask to be kept safe then question the way it's done.

  • Oh and what country are you from?

  • @BelRabimMarduk just shut the fuck up you peice of shit. u sound real tough over the internet! so if you against something then why the fuck are you looking videos up like this? so u can just start a fight? grow up. and to you USMarine12 im sorry for all your losses, i lost one of my good freinds to an IED.

  • @BelRabimMarduk ur really fucked up and if i were to ever meet you in person i would make you 10X the amount of fucked up then you are now! u sick piece of shit!

  • I think you wasting you breath to respond to a piece of shit like BelRabim.

I'm an agnostic, and generally don't believe in Satan's existence, but BelRabim is probably one of the islamic reincarnations of the devil. Islam is just pure evil and filth.

Islam should be eliminated from the earth. It only brings death, distraction and indoctrination.

For every US, Canadian, British, Israeli etc... soldier that islam kills it murders hundreds and thousands of their own.

  • @smekos yeah i know what you mean brother..but are you a soldier also?

  • While I agree what you're saying, Marines aren't well known for spending their days on youtube commenting. Its also very convenient isn't it that you lost people in all three situations?

you really make it hard to believe. I agree with you on BelRabim's statements, but I don't believe you are really a marine

  • the kids bro dies and these guys are arguing... abouuuut?

  • To you nasty civilians the war on Iraq might be a bunch of bullshit but when that first round goes by your head its not about politics its about your buddies in front of you and behind you. Grow up watch CNN and post your comments only about what you know from the hour of CNN you watch thanks for all the support you show your Marines.

  • @winger1123 Finally someone with actual respect that dose not talk shit. Thank you.

  • Thank god,

im not the only one saying this!

    :)

  • @BelRabimMarduk Although, I am not American. But your just a dirty pig. Fucking 13 year old that has no fucking clue on anything. I hope you die and there is absolutely no one to care for you ass. Your the redneck asshole.

  • Kid, why dont you learn a bit about american way of warfare and come and talk to me after that. See first how they fuck up Iraq and its people in some areas for no reson and then kome to me and call me redneck, untill then, fuck you so much for your coment.

  • @BelRabimMarduk First of all, don't call me a kid you dirty fuck. Yes we all know the war on Iraq is a bunch of bullshit. But what you had said was totally disrespectful.

  • Man you don't know shit that goes on down there! Your fucking safe in your home while our Troops are fighting and making sacrifices to keep your sorry ass safe!

  • such a well done tribute. God bless our fallen heroes.

  • the younger guy is army and the older guy is marines?

  • Yes, you've got it right. The younger man is in the 1st Cavalry Division, known as the Black Horse, an Army unit that has covered itself in glory time and time again. The Marine is... well, he's a Marine. They're kinda larger than life on their own.

  • Yes.

  • I agree...i watched this movie by myself. Bless the ones who fight for this country in which we are free to have what we have. HOO RAH!

  • I couldn't help but cry watching this scene. Much respect to all the people defending our freedom.

  • i've seen the movie a couple of times and everytime I cry as if it's my first time watching it. It's a very powerful movie.

  • calling sun Jack or Frank. You're Funny. Hahahahaha WHY SO SERIOUS! Hahahaha. You're are such a funny guy. Oh Funny bastards like you should be everywhere. Hope to you stay funny, bastard. HAHAHAhahahaha WHY SO SERIOUS!!! Hahahahaha. Calling a sun Jack or Frank, serious funny jackass just to be Frank with you, FUNNY JACKASS!

  • @BelRabimMarduk Fuck off and die. You disrespectful asshole.

  • I noticed a thing here and ive seen it here n there on uniforms and on that plane; why is the US flag reversed??

  • As you look at the military's servicemember's shoulder, the Stars will appear to go forward before the Stripes. Reason for the "reverse flag" is that the military will always run towards the battle, never away from it. The military servicemember will never retreat.

When the flag is used to cover a casket, it should be so placed that the union is at the head and over the left shoulder. The flag should not be lowered into the grave or allowed to touch the ground.

  • aaaah. Thank you very much:)

  • not just running towards the battle but rather leading the way for everyone else is a better way to put it and that's what my first sgt. told me

  • During my tour in Iraq i heard about this movie, and how it was based on Colonel Strobl escort of Lance Corporal Chance Phelps. So when i came back and it showed on HBO i watched it and it was touching throughout the whole movie.

And i found myself Saluting, whenever he saluted to.

  • Powerfull movie that everyone should watch.

  • Saw a bit of it today. Seemed really good and I only saw 20 mins of it and I felt the power of it. Somehow the funeral scene reminded me of my cousins funeral. Not that their deathes was any alike. He was no soldier nor had he died in war. He was 18 and about to finish school... I think it was the coffin. The feeling of sitting on a bench looking at a coffin knowing that there lies one of my best friends. Almost made me cry...

  • this was a VERY good movie. i was stationed at Dover AFB and saw my share of HR cerimonies and all of the cerimonies i participated in were all so sobbering. there were only a few things that got to me however. like some one said TAPS was not played in the movie, and the second (last) thing is that when ever the remains are in movement ie. loaded off the plane or into the cars. You render arms until the remains are stationary.

  • he cut his salute before the Officer return the salute???

must be an army thing i guess

  • That was a mistake made in the editing process. The Army salutes like everyone else! :)

  • No, it's not an Army thing. He screwed up his salute.

  • omg.. When my husband was in Iraq I was so afraid to get that knock on the door...

  • One of the more moving parts of the movie. You could just feel the anguish the young Sargent was going through. All in all, a wonderful movie paying tribute to our fallen.

  • he was a lt. col.. that is higher rank than a sgt

  • He's not talking about Bacon's character, but the young Army sgt. in this clip that's taking his brother home.

  • What Michael said. The younger enlisted man was full of remorse but trying to be strong. You could just feel his heart break. Sorry I misspelled Sergeant before.

  • Great Movie. Could watch it over and over. Two things should have been included. One... TAPS! and two... at the end of the movie when they were thanking servicemen they should have added... AND WE THANK YOU!!

  • I thought it was so strange they didn't play TAPS!

  • sadest part of movie

  • agreed

  • Taking Chance is a wonderful movie! Everyone should see it. Kevin Bacon is awesome!
