  • 2.75 for gas, id dance for that...

  • haha are you still dancing now?

  • why the phuck are they happy / dancing, it was just another president who didnt go through with what he said he was going to do, and made you all look like idiots for voting for him. unkept promises and nothing more.

  • Gas was only $2.75!?!

  • I think it's time for new top comments... since obama blows and all...

  • LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is obama on his promises hahailied.gif

  • what is the name of the band playing ? greets from germany ;)

  • @akaknoTze Band name is Journey. Song is don't stop believing. Also lol at the top comments from 2 years ago, what a time its been...

  • I love you America :D

god bless the USA <<< peace from Saudi Arabia :)

  • Seattle looks so <3

  • Hype and chump change. I wonder if they are as happy now with the lying fraud in chief.

  • People are so retarded, they always need a reason to celebrate

  • omg i can't believe i started crying when i saw this!

  • $2.75 gas- what century was this?!

  • damn no blacks in seattle

  • In some online communities I go to, people compared the partying after Obama's victory to the Return Of The Jedi ending in that each represented a major victory over something.

Ironic, because as the cracked.com article "6 most depressing happy endings" argues, the RotJ ending doesn't imply as much of a victory over the empire as it seemed to. Similarly, the Obama victory didn't imply as much of a victory over the far right as it seemed to.

  • obama deception

  • This video still gives me chills, I remember the pure joy and excitement I felt when it was announced.

  • This looks like so much fun. I should have gone to downtown LA and skipped my high school homework at the time. But where are the all the butthurt Republicans? That would have been interesting.

  • My peoples what an awesome nite

    Hell yea Seattle

  • @xWren I'm with you man - I really think it's a problem with the system, not the politicians. Obama made promises, Ron Paul makes promises, everyone makes promises, but they're just cogs. The power of this video is people power. We have to keep fighting, just like you're doing by making this post. Much love.

  • This is still the most touching video I've ever seen. Not because I support Obama (I don't really believe in the two party system), but because of everyone's EXCITEMENT. Everyone was so happy, so unified, so excited to take action. I know people have been working hard, and if you aren't involved in activism, you don't see it - but I have to wonder, what happened? What will it take to get us here again? <3 Good thoughts to everyone.

  • See this is why Seattle rocks. I'm proud to be from there. :)

  • I loved Seattle.. It is soo free and people there are soo awesome. I was there in the crowd somewhere..lol The club we are all dancing in front of is called Neighbors.. Its my hangout place when in Seattle.. Now I live in Minneapolis, MN. Love you Seattle...

  • forgot how awesome seattle is.

  • @xWren you could add here war in iran, cause it;s pretty much inevitable

  • the first time in years where i wasnt ashamed of our flag

  • @xWren let em know brother!

  • Go Obama! this will be a day i will never forget....i feel so blessed to be part of it!

  • Obama the first half-caste biracial mixed-race president not black

  • Us liberals sure can party. It's good not to have conservatives celebrating to cotton eye Joe.

  • He'll win again in 2012. The teabaggers got the Mormon and the Moron. Besides we have the votes now and will have an even larger block in a few years.

  • That was an awesome nite and I wish I was on the hill partying with you guys

  • You're a disgrace to the great university state of Massachusetts.

  • @SouthBoston88 just a typical inbred racist prick...such a shame

  • From Sydney with love. No other president has brought out people on the streets like this before. He didn't create the job losses or the financial meltdown. But he is slowly fixing it. Don't be bitter. I don't see how the GOP would have done better!

  • mate ur lack or education and obvious racism is sad. and for you to assume we don't get the news in Australia is calling 21 million of us uneducated. This is why u r from South Boston!

  • @SouthBoston88 You live in Southie you broke motherfucker

  • Seattle people rock!!!!!!

  • @inchargeof88

Seattle people are clueless. must be all the drugs!!

  • I would because the stock market crashed, layoffs, housing market bubble burst all under Pres. Bush's watch. Obama is trying to fix all the damages

  • @ukiahcat ,

last time i checked, it was your Mulatto president Obongo who supported/fought for banks giving loans for houses to minorities with bad credit. when they couldn't (naturally) afford the payments, they simply left and stuck the bank for the bill. F--- OBAMA, the world's predictably worst President

  • @SouthBoston88,

On October 25, 2008 Bush has gave an emergency stimulas to the banks with no accountability for all that billions of dollars of tax paying monies. Maybe the banks should have failed then if they were too big to fail I think they were too big to live. So in the case that you think banks were giving too much loans and credit lets just ban credit cards all together since millions of Americans are in debt with credit card balances. Without credit the economy today would fail

  • 8 years' worth of gop policies almost certainly got 'em laid off

  • @miguelvillafana

and only ONE year of Communist Obongo's policies CERTAINLY got them laid off!

  • how is he communist? who passed the patriot act, warrantless wiretapping, fisa courts, airline bailouts, etc.? You obviously have no idea how/why communism/socialism/totalitarianism works...

  • Obama is spending my money like a drunken sailor in a whorehouse using his ex-girlfriend's credit card the same night she gave him a dear John letter.

  • I am fifty and Obama is the hardest working president in my life. We have never seen anyone like him and there is nobody on his tails.

  • We finally have a president who gives a damn

  • @KushPizzaSleep

i'm guessing you have no clue what your talking about. THINK or at least research before you write.

  • @KushPizzaSleep how do u feel now? LOL

  • @crysisgoty better than bush

  • @KushPizzaSleep shitty president is still shitty.

  • Not even one year to turn around so many years. How much are we willing to give to keep America a Great Nation? Come on we Can Do This. Don't be so weak. We are of the USA. Yes We Can hold together. Ever do project work, great at beginning, horrid in the middle (this is when failures retreat) and then it is done and how proud we are. Think of moving USA and world to a better place as an 8 year project. I am as much if not more with Pres. Obama than I was on this day of his election.

  • U.S. sucks, Canada and bollywood rule

  • Don't stop believe'n for sure! Give Obama time people... have faith!!

  • That was fucking amazing! Great song. Even if Obama doesn't live up to the hype... the emotions for everyone was so damn real that night. It takes me back and I wouldn't have it any other way.

  • I love this video!

  • i voted for him and now i'm let down. but i'll still always remember how happy i was when he was elected. hopefully mr. president will remember to help the people of this great nation instead of giving handouts to corporations as well as neutralizing the anti-war left.

  • Obama won't let u down I believe. Give him time to clean up all mess.

Otherwise I will be heart broken too.

  • to the folks who gave me thumbs down, do you deny that he will escalate an unnecessary war and that even though he lead a populist message against corporations, he catered to them since he was inaugurated?

  • if he would have let the corporations fail then this whole country would be in a way worse shape. He had to save them..he has not catered to them. Didn't he just make them take a pay cut? The war in Afghanistan was the right one in the first place. He is moving us out of Iraq which is what he promised to do, he said he would focus more on Afghan. He is keeping his promises

  • @invisiblehostage2 Are you heartbroken? I'm just curious!

  • @invisiblehostage2 and no messes were cleaned that day.

  • I was there! that was Amazing!!!

  • What a night for the USA. I am once again proud to call myself an American!

  • This was so exciting and the momemtum is growing. The latest Gallup poll shows 38 states blue, 8 swing and only 5 red: Alaska, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Alabama. Lets keep up the good work and pass health care. I still get goose bumps watching this.

  • i haven't watched this in so long! what a beautiful night that was. the purest and most absolute bliss! i feel so lucky to have been a part of it. journey will never be the same for me after that experience!

  • aww i miss seattle i moved to redneck michigan 3 months befroe the election! ill always be a seatown girl at heart :)

  • Throw it down for the West Coast, UH!!!

    Cheers from Vancouver, B.C.

  • WE NEED PEOPLE LIKE YOU SEATTLE!!!!!

  • If ur from Seattle, you should search youtube for the video called, BUS STOP DANCER IN SEATTLE. He's the most talented street dancer! And if you're lucky, you may have seen him!

  • yep I think we're all happier now

  • wow...good times...we were partying near there ....wish i was there....i got this song on my iphone cause of this......

  • All Dance and the music is making me feel Alive :]

  • This video will never stop making me happy. What a night!

  • Sent thrills down my spine, Deffinately cheers me up for no reason ha.

  • My god I wish I was there.. but I am a Brit girl xD

  • i watch this video every few days just to relive my joy if nothing else liberals know how to party =D

  • Meanwhile, Gus Gundersen, 77, having made a "quick trip" to the Shell gas station, found himself trapped for four hours while surrounded by raucous youth. He layed on his horn nearly non-stop, but nobody heard his furtive honks.

Upon Gus expiring, the partygoers "body surfed" his corpse to a nearby medical examiner's van.

Six months later, nobody has had the courage to break the news to his widow, Gladys, who continues to wonder what's taking Gus so "goddamned long" to come home.

  • damn, they drinking on the streets too?! NEAT!

  • ...and the gas price is 2.75. lol...

  • oh what a night. i just watched this after months and the pure joy and emotion of that night floods back. amazing

  • this sends chills down my spine every time i see it.. and makes me cry because i wish i could've been there, or just even in the US to experience this.

  • goddam americans! "Don't stop believing"...then 100 days later your'e all criticizing him for not making a change. How the fuck could he change a country for the better in 100 days? Honestly, you are all so fucking deluded, I'm glad I left before my education started

  • Don't to the right wing nut cases. I was there that night, I danced and I sang, and I still believe in him.

  • You know, sometimes I get a little fed up with the passive-aggressive type this city seems to breed/attract, but at the end of the day, there are great people in Seattle.

I had never, and, in all probability, will never again experience this many happy people in one place. And there's something to be said for that.

  • i was there! watching this still gives me chills. instant mood-picker-upper!

  • Just gives me shivers. Tears in my eyes, for the hope. Don't EVER stop believing.

  • If you ever need to be reminded of what "joy" is, watch this video. Seattle is awesome!

  • Is is sooo amazing!!! Things like this just don't happen around where I live... *sigh*

Does anyone know what remix this is, or where I can buy/download it? I've fallen in love with it!!

  • Both candidates were great, I liked both of them for different reasons.

Oh How i wish I was there.

  • Obama! He's amazing! I wish I was thare saleabrating!

  • Oh, man, that looks like it was *awesome.* Does anyone know which remix this is?

  • Don't Stop Believin' (Extended Remix) by George Lamond

  • Sweet! I was wondering what it was. Just bought it.

  • I was there. and yessir it was uhmayzing!!

  • aha! i love seattle, so glad i live here. most diverse place in the U.S. hah, cops were dancing here too. you can see their lights on 1:23

  • The cops where great that night. As soon as people started to party in the street they just closed of the whole block (four blocks actually, centered around the intersection). They kept an eye on things, everyone behaved well and it was an amazing night. They didn't even bug the people who climbed up the street poles to wave flags.

  • Looks like Seattle parties the best in the nation. Wish I was up there. Northern CA here..

  • Well sorry that you can't accept democracy. Why is it you extremists can't accept that everyone has a right to win in life. I am a Republican but I voted for Obama because I know Obama would actually do something to get this country back on its feet. if you want to talk about big government that would fall communist then Bush was communist with alot of worthless spending and bigger government. Obama will spend money that will go to the people not to oil tycoons of Bush

  • Woops, my mistake, themisianos4. Sorry about that, brother.

  • i was freakin there!

  • I love Seattle

  • lol at the ever present shell logo....

but im glad it happened. it looks fun.

  • whoa...

  • THATS ME AT 3:19!!!!

  • U ARE MISGUIDED,

    Seattle, rocks...

  • Actually, kglisson89, we're glad you don't live in Seattle either. If this joyous celebration---God, it felt so good to breathe again---upsets you, that makes it even better.

Best of all---you have no choice but to face the future under our new liberal, black president, Barack Hussein Obama!!! Woo Hoo!

  • Makes me sorry too. Wish you'd leave. There's a small town in Alabama or Oklahoma where you'd fit in perfectly.

I'm glad you're such a small and insignificant part of this well educated, enlightened town.

    We kicked your ass!

  • Actually i'm a democrat and if you would have taken the time to look at my profile you would of realized that..I ,my good man was talking about the song and the lack of rythmn of white america

  • Relief indeed 8yrs of evil finally gone......Go Seattle, Chicago

  • Of course he's "just a man". A man who will ban torture, appoint intelligent, progressives to the courts, end the occupation of Iraq, establish universal health care and much, much more. McCain would have been a continuation of the nightmare.

We won. You lost. The one with "mental problems" is you. I'm just so happy that people with your disturbed and angry outlook are on the outside looking in.

This celebration was WONDERFUL! Pure Joy! And if makes people like you mad, all the better!

  • Eight years of pain being released...maybe more pain than we know. Way to go Seattle!!

  • I guess your butt is still sore from the good kicking we gave it on Election Day, huh?

Ha ha. PRESIDENT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA!!! FOR EIGHT LONG YEARS.

I'm so glad that people like you have to live with it, every day!

  • I'm a New Yorker living in Seattle for the last three years. I was here. It was that night that Seattle finally became home.

  • i still cant beleive it WE WON !!!! for once the good guys won !!!

  • Seattle celebrated with us here in Chicago. I love that city. WHAT A YEAR!

  • Seattle is where it's at...I've never been, but everything I've heard about it is great despite the depressing weather

  • that's amazing. there's just something about journey music... it's just so dance-able and sing-able and happy-making. :) :)

  • I am jealous. I wish i was there. oh well i watched the whole thing at home.

  • nice!

  • Tomorrows the day!

  • oh god i wish i was here!

  • If I live to 200 years old, Seattle Nov 2nd 2008 will not be a day I forget.

  • November 4th was quite a day too.

  • I love seattle..

lets turn this into a rave. haha

  • Awesome clip! I love SEATTLE!!!

Great energy! I wish I was there that night..stuck on the boring eastside! hahaha! :) I'm going to DC in a week for the inauguration of President Barack Obama! Yeah baby!! YES WE DID!

  • I'm so proud of my home city. I wish I had been there. Not that hearing primal screams of pure joy all across a college campus was bad, but this, this was something else.

  • hahahaha!!!!!!!!

  • Fuckin' Seattle. I had to work at the Westin that night in valet. Too bad people weren't happy with the tips when it's non stop cars for hours on end.

  • I was in Alabama when Obama won (I'm still here) but I'm moving to Seattle later this year. I wish wish wish wish wish people got this happy here. Everyone here was SO pissed off. I LOVE this song by the way. It's not fair at all that I wasn't there. I would've loved to celebrate with you guys.

  • Who sang this song, sorry i live in the UK so good music is once in a while

  • this is such a beautiful moment

  • 18 more days!!!

  • This year was one of the most exciting i've ever had, i'm gonna miss everything about it but it's sadly time to move on. Can't wait til Jan 20th. Merry Christmas and Happy New year all.

  • fucking best day of my life, and i will remember this forever. that was really exciting!! everyone was so happy and or drunk/stoned. it just set off a really awesome vibe that is still in me

  • sucks for you

  • McCain wasn't born on American soil

  • whats the song?

  • Don't stop believing - Journey

  • Don't stop believing - Journey

  • Man, I wish I was there.

  • I'm not from Seattle, but I love watching this video to get the feeling of that night....

  • Conservatives are sore losers. But who can blame them when it appears that liberals are such immodest, in-your-face winners.

  • I was there that night, still getting the chills. I want a time machine, want to go back to the War Room 8p on Nov 4th, when MSNBC and all other networks called elections for Barack. The best moment in my life, I want to relive it again and everything else that followed that night on the Capitol Hill. Whenever I watch any clips reflecting on that night and how Seattle got together and the whole world, I start crying :). Thank You Barack, Thank You Americans!

  • I stumbled across the is video, it is a beautiful sight to see. Go Washington. It is a new day in America. Gotta Love It!!

  • It's been two months and this still makes me cry...makes me dance in my seat a little...

  • lol loser get over it , acorn didn't deliver 8+ million more votes good OLD MCSAME AND PAIN
