You don't hear "leant" much in the US. I don't think I've seen it in contemporary literature, either. I don't know if the British use it or not. Here, "leaned" seems to be the preferred form. Also, "learnt" sounds like slang to me. "Learned" is more standard in the US, and it is the form used in writing.
