I was just casually doing my Photography homework, listening to this track, when suddenly I noticed a sickening lump in my throat. I nearly cried listening to this music...

I've never cried listening to music before so it was strange. This track is just stunning. Mathis dying was such a heart-wrenching scene; him cradled in Bond's arms was just so sad.

@ Dynamite Child: Vesper's theme is at 1:36. It's that really hauntingly beautiful piano piece that makes you feel all sad, like you've lost something.

it would of been so much better if they showed a flashback of Vesper in a scene of casino royal as mathis tells james to forgive her and himself then dies...oh it would of been haunting

I remember muttering to my son, as we watched Bond cradle the dying Mathis, "This looks like Michelangelo's`Pieta.'" It was very sad to see that flawed but very engaging character die, as I suppose the canons of classic drama require. But that scene really hurt.
