I was there in the 1950s, 1960s, and, off and on, in the 1970s. Someone needs to post some photos from that time. Otherwise, it would be impossible to convey how much life and creativity there was where there now is desolation.
A sad remnant of yesteryear. I'm in my 50s and cannot remember The Casino ever being operational aside from a few meager concessions in the long hallway area. The facades & columns had fanciful polychromed terracotta sea statuary, dolphins, Neptune, mermaids, etc.The pavallion with the spire next door was the division between Asbury Pk & Ocean Grove. It was an observation deck, had lighting. You could view the ocean or the "lake" behind it. There may have been restrooms at the ground level.
