I believe that Iran does have the Legal right under the NPT to enrich uranium to whatever level they need just like any other country signed up to the NPT. I believe that Iran does have the Legal right under the NPT to enrich uranium to whatever level they need just like any other country signed up to the NPT. Especially as they are heavily inspected by IEAE. So I am asking myself what are the reasons the UN keep sanctionning Iran. The answer seems generally too obscure from those pro sanctions factions Or are based on mistrust of Iran Or some other baseless arguments pertaining to their supposed 'ideology.' So i am still waiting for facts.

Ex) If someone said they would kill another person if they were to obtain a gun, that would be wrong right? What if that person purchased bullets for said gun? "Threatening" and they started buying pieces of that gun so they could assemble it. This is where Iran is at now. Some people are wrong and they are.

@MrDefq i'd say you are right especially as i know Mr Boltons views are hardly ever based on facts especially when it comes to Iran or even going to war. but i am researching this for a debate and i need to know facts quoted by the UN. If you or anybody else can enlighten me i'd be grateful. At present the way i see it i that the UN sanctions at best dont make sense or at worst is illegal. hope they are not sanctionning any country simply based on suspcions and unfair demands, TY

@MrMauritiano The western powers want Iran to be an underdeveloped country like Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and most of the Arab speaking countries. Don't let the money Arab countries have due to oil trick you. They seem to have everything, but they have zero industry, technology, etc. It is very easy to control and rule on ignorant people, and this is exactly what is going on the middle east. But Iran is slightly different. They have a rich culture, and they want to go back to those times.

this is not steps in the right direction, civil rights, trade agreements, policy change are steps in the right direction. if i see someone who has a gun i dont think they are safe to be around, think they're trying to show physical dominance. who do they need to dominate? take care of yourselves. and if you need a new missile system to do so, so be it. i just think there are better ways.

@tdrobar I don't understand where do you get that Iran's politics are that of discrimination, and hatred. It is a multi-ethnic country that even has a strong population of over 25,000 Jews who are Iranian citizens, and enjoy all the rights as the Muslim Iranians. Just because Iran doesn't bow down to Western powers is not indicative of discrimination or hatred. And to get back on topic, if the Iranian government hadn't taken a proactive stance on military development, it would be attacked.

The only intolerance from the Iranian's side are toward the nations that insist on enslaving small, weaker countries through force, and also for meddling in their (Iran's) internal affairs. i.e. Trying to force them to stop enriching uranium which is their LEGAL RIGHT under the NPT! It's a sad reality that a show of force is the only way to keep a country safe from attack, and that is reason for the weapons you see in these videos. Makes sense now?!

@MrMauritiano Thank you for the compliment. I always try to look at any topic or issue from all sides in order to come up with what I feel is a balanced conclusion. Hence the reason I chose "IAmOpenMinded" as a username. I do believe however that "MrDefq" has done a great job answering much of your questions. The only thing is that sometimes the discussion goes off in a tangent and the original topic of the video in question is lost. I believe every country has the right to defend itself.
