Altered Beast - SEGA Virtual Console on the Wii

It's striking how differently Altered Beast looks & plays between the System 16 arcade & MD/Genesis versions. The home version was very much watered-down, it was a major downgrade. Arcade had much better-defined, larger, much more colorful, much better animated sprite graphics. It had cool scaling effects when your foes broke apart & when Neff grew large before he transformed into the stage boss. Arcade's gameplay was more difficult too. Compare both versions w/ Sega Genesis Collection on PS2.

The arcade version was garbage compared to the Genesis version.

I know because I played it. Better graphics and sound NOT A GOOD GAME MAKE (in the words of Yoda)

The Arcade is nothing more than a Quarter sucker.

Atleast the Genesis port controls better and is GASP PLAYABLE.

Ha, you should try the pc engine version!! You will be praising the lord for this one. Now thats a bad port, whoa.

Someone needs to release a direct arcade port version then - god dammit. One of the best classic games ever! I just got my WELCOME TO YOUR DOOM tattoo a few days ago.

Sega Genesis Collection on PS2 contains the System 16 arcade version as well as the MD/Genesis version.

WTF? i used to love this game, well i still like it but it would be better to play the ARCADE version of it on the Wii,dont you think?, it has better graphics, sound and stuff.
