  • Can i know how u did it Please if my version of the song comes out right ill post it up and you can tell me if its good enough (please reply)

  • no matter wat that was AWSOME!

  • wow howd u do this...? and omg make a vid how to use garage band idk how

  • Personally, I prefer the FL Studio format better. It seems to be more user-friendly, and the piano roll is unbeatable.

You can see some of my work at my channel if you're interested. :)

Nice work. The original is a powerful song and it was a pretty good remake.

  • i would advise against using "Hollywood Strings" for the chorus, it has a slow attack and makes it seem like its out of time.

  • @415mickey I sometimes just mute the chorus when I'm listening to it but the song just seems so empty like that. I kinda like the feel the strings bring to it, they seemed like the best option with the basic Garageband instruments. If I had more skills I would have liked to make some kind of choral sound.

  • @magicxxxman yes idiot. They are instruments.

  • Hitn: The strings are not very accurate inGgarageBand. I would change the Strings, who play first to a flute or sth like that

  • @PodcastRady I don't really care for the sound of the synth or the flute in GarageBand. And I'm not advanced enough of a user to make them sound better. The strings seemed like the best option for the lyrical part of the song, other than to just skip it.

  • really good

  • @magicxxxman They're all merely software instruments, but yes they do all come with the basic version of Garageband. I've never bought any of the Jam Packs.

  • @CharlesP2009 Can you tell me, where the pop kit is?

I only have the Hip hop and Rock kit...

  • @Lilac354 Have you got all the software instruments installed? I think Macs nowadays ship with a more minimal installation of GarageBand.

  • can you use midi devices with this version of garage band?

  • @jexi31895 Yup, any USB MIDI device should just plug and play!

  • nice job

  • I love it :)

How long did it take to make this?

  • can you put the drum beat, and the name of sny other thing u put in the desription???? lol but i know to piano part..

  • please make a tutorial im subscribing

  • GOOD JOB U R GOOD

  • Really like it, impressively close to the fort minor original

Only bit I'm not so keen on are the mid pitch strings in replace of the chorus vocals. 'Where'd you go, I miss you so' etc.

Maybe try to replace vocals with something else. The vocals are quite staccato, and the synth strings don't let them selves very well to being played staccato. You can really hear the synthetic nature of the instrument. Maybe try replacing the vocals with a reverby piano instead.

  • *lend themselves (not let)

  • i alwyzz..sing this tune even when i breathe..:S

i love the way it goes..

high down high down high down high down..:)

  • i always have a hard time on making drum beats

    help'/

  • FORT MINOR JÄÄÄR

  • AMAZING.

    Thanks for this!

  • You are amazing great job ans keep it up! You should definately keep on the track your on. Youve got 5/5 from me

  • wow that must have been hard to do! GREAT JOB!!!!

  • c'est genial ! ! ! ! ! ! !

  • the drum loops should be in hip hop drums rather than whteva drums those are???

  • I believe loops are orange and software or midi instruments are green.

  • yes they are, loops are orange and software or midi instruments are green. but look at the video description. he's lying about garageband.

  • Impressive. Very well matched.

The piano solo that starts @ 2:55 on your movie is off. The first note is high. Sounds like two whole steps.

  • how do you learn how to play this stuff seriously you're a genious. i love it. <3

  • SWEET!

  • whoa, great job!

  • great job but i think the snears on the popkit are not compatibly with the piano

  • Great Job man, must have taken a long time

  • very cool!

  • the snear drum is not quite but is it a nice song

  • how many timez do i have to bust a rhyme to let ya people know that im going to shine in the mean time i have to do what i can to become a real man to learn lifes lessions which its keeping me guessing im trying to not make the same mistake again with each Challenge coming at me its hard to win its hard to make ends meat spitting rhymes in the net with different beats showing people that i have the skillz to become one of the greats so im going to keep on living with power and will late ya

  • ya mac must hae paid him a lot cuz they hae so many of his loops...and they gotta buy the rights and stuff to do that

  • The loops existed in GarageBand before Mike formed Fort Minor. I imagine the loops are part of public domain or perhaps Apple pays licensing fees to whoever owns them

  • actually the loops are older than fort minor and royalty free which means that anybody can use them and it doesnt matter.

  • Go iLife06 this was on Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger. I can tell for one because the tiny apple in upper left is blue like myne. :P I have 10.4.11

  • That doesn't necessarily mean it is iLife '06. Later version are supported by Tiger, I do believe.

  • iLife '08 will run on OS X Tiger but iLife '09 requires Leopard 10.5.6 or later.

  • (\__/)

(='.'=)mr.bunny is so wierd reminds me of the bunny from doomsday

  • maybe fort minor used garage band to get there songs think about it.

  • The majority of the album was created in Garageband as a matter of fact. Take the song believe me for instance. The orchestral/violin part is a loop in Garageband and the shaker/bongo interlude towards the end are all available loops in Garageband! Don't believe me check it out in Garageband yourself.

  • Mike Shinoda has been seen in many videos using Pro Tools, I bet that application has some of the same loops as Garageband.

  • nice. almost as good as your linkin park one =)

  • hey nice job but i dont like this song XD anyways, this is a awsome job!

  • Toooo Fast but ...WOW!!!

  • why does garageband have so much fort minor stuff on it? i created a beat yesterday and it is literally the exact same song as believe me by fort minor... listen to the sample on garageband called orchestra strings a8 and then listen to the sone. its the same thing!

  • It's actually the other way around. Fort Minor uses garageband stuff. But that is okay since garageband loops are royalty free and can be used in commercial songs for free.

  • if u had put in voice i would have fallen off the chair... but i almost did ;)

  • Leave da blank!

  • yes you can pretty much use the musical typing for anything

  • Hey, i was wondering.....

Can you "TYPE" the drums in garageband ? or is it only for the piano. "musical typing"..

    Thank You.

  • You can type any instrument, the different notes are different drum sounds(bass, snare crash etc.)

    I hope that helps!!!

  • what type of screen recorder do you use?

  • It's an older program but still does the job, "SnapzPro X".

  • wow nice man =D

  • amazing! =)

  • i think fortminor has another loop in garage band

  • yeah, for "believe me". they use a 'strings' loop

  • lol im happy im not the only one who knows that fort minor uses enhanced garageband loops

  • are you using idrum?

because i find it very difficult to keep such a steady beat.

  • you have to quantize your beat after you record it, highlight it and click the scicors icon at the bottom of the screen, it will bring up a editing option screen, click the tabe below "enhance timing" towards the bottom, click the timing setting that you want and it will align your notes for you

  • I'm wondering how you made this video. It looks like you had some sort of constant video-audio screen capture (not a camera pointed at the screen.) Just curious :-)

  • It's a program called SnapzProX for Mac OS X. It can do anything from taking screenshots every couples seconds to recording video and audio up to 30fps. It'll export the video in any codec the Mac can support. Pretty nifty piece of software.

  • dude i have a mac, do you have to buy snapzprox?

  • It has a limited free trial mode. In fact I just used the trial to record this and my Numb video and then trashed it. It's the only advanced screen capture app I've found, I wish someone would do a more modern freeware one.

I think you can use the terminal to record video but terminal isn't any fun to use IMO.

  • hey nice vid btw

    ive used my free trial

how do you record with terminal?

  • I would like to learn how terminal can record the screen that would be so cool.

  • Well.. If you put some song in to it i'm sure it would sound cool :)

  • how//??? haha

  • cough cough,bullsht cough.

  • I wouldn't say that.

If you knew anything about computer "which I now doubt at this point" you'd know Linux is an OS that allows you to run operating specs/scripts from any system. If you think that's "bullshit" you should google it and learn something.

    Google it, since

  • i never said its impossible, you just don't have it.go tag some building lowlife scum.

  • GO MAC!!! lol

  • what garage band version is this

  • I don't remember the exact version number I had at the time of doing the song but it was part of iLife '06 (AKA Garageband 3).

  • WOOT!

  • Nice Tune Man. Im going to download that program now

  • Man that piano is annoying... over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.......

  • good song i like your loops!! A+

  • good for usin only midi tracks.

  • Thats awsome due keep up ur awsome work!

  • awesome rendition. my only comment would be to try and adjust the note velocity on the piano, so that it doesn't sound like a robot is playing. all in all, though, very good.

  • great song!!!! great job!!!!

    im gettin a mac soon

  • nice!!!

  • dang dude that was awesome!!!!! how long did that take?

  • I worked on it on and off for a couple of months putting all the pieces of the song together.

  • omg! your awesome! great video!

  • very good do you have more songs??

  • "Numb" by Linkin Park.

  • lol i just started using garage band like 4 days ago and i noticed that fort minor uses it alot... on the song "Believe Me" they use it to

  • is that the song with the orchestra strings in it?

  • dude that's nice

  • every good !!brow!

  • wow, thats amazing

  • thats pretty cool

  • thats pretty crazy that you didnt use a single loop threw the whole thing well done anyways

  • Sounds just like it!!!

and i hate your chocolate rain one, sorry.

  • Never did and don't even know what Chocolate Rain is my friend.

  • You know, you can mess with the strings to cut down the delay/lag. I still hate the snare in GarageBand, but otherwise good job. A little easier than Chocolate Rain though. (Look over in related videos for mine). --->

  • i hate this song but it sounds pretty gd comsiderin it's garage band

  • I think you can find it on this site I stumbled across called jamglue(dot)com, They have instrumentals and a'cappella of most hiphop/rap songs out there. I mainly use it for remixing and messing around. Check it out maybe you'll find it.

  • hey man you know that one of the samples in garage band is from fort minor right?

  • Which one?

  • OR Fort Minor used the loop from garageband.

  • mike shinoda uses a few samples from garage band.

  • can you sned me this garage band project?

  • what recorder program r u using because mine lags

  • just type in whered u go acappella and ull probably find a free download

also, i think u should change the snare

  • No luck, I've looked many times the last couple years, Google and iTunes don't have it.

  • i kno where to get fort minor and other acapellas, but i dont know if this one is there, still pm and ill give u the link, cant put it here cuz they dont let us put links =)

  • You need to use reverb - a lot of it. Hit me back if you need help with that.

  • weisbro1 STFU and u try to make better then that

  • add the singers ir would make it better

  • dude can u send me the garage band file for this i want to show my friends an example of kick ass matireal Lol

  • Fcking awsome shit man nice job i would give it a 100/100 lol im still trying to get the hang of my garage band GREAT WORK!

  • ur very talented good job

  • NIIICE!

  • what kind of piano did you use in it?

  • sounds just like regular grand piano with no sustain.

  • you should of used the hip hop beat or techno.

i dont know, i would of though. overall amazing

  • Thats so fkn gd lol nice work man, keep it up :)

  • thats really good

  • you could have gone into the instrument settings and edited the piano for reverb which is needed to emulate the song correctly, but good overall.

  • dam this is good. man i really want a mac

  • just mine, its well worth saving atleast a grand you'll never be dissapointed with one.

  • awsome

  • What kind of Mac do you have?

  • MacBook Pro with the 2.33Ghz processor.

  • Nice. I have a 24" iMac with a 2.4GHz processor.

  • where you can download garage band pls reply

  • you can't download it. buy a mac then you have it. no chance for PC^^

  • I don't really mind the snare however it could be better. You should have used a different piano to give it a nice twist.

    Great work!

  • I don't have any Jam Packs so this is using just the default instruments. My options for piano were the punchy, on stage, or the regular Grand (and the out of the question synths and others).

  • Dude this is inspiring and I hope you make another one! I've made music with garageband but not like this you should be their spokesman or something!!!!!

  • damn i HATE THAT WACK SNARE IN GARAGEBAND !!

    xDDD

    sounds like it was RAPEDDD

  • very cool man! perfect!

  • this really isn't that hard to do.

al he did was break down the original, rear it with apple loops, then take the vocals out.

  • No, he made his own loops that sound like the instruments in the song, and put those together.

How the Hell could he remove vocals?!

  • I Like the snare.. sounds sorta real, unlike most rap snares.

    little loud though.

  • & yet its a painfully obvious GB default snare

  • Snare really makes it sound horrible. If you fixed that it would be amazing!

  • I guess I will have to drag this song out of retirement and try to improve it. Garageband is a lot more capable today than it was when I originally made this!

  • those vocal-imitating strings should be just 1/5 second earlier. Snare terrible :)

  • ye i agree wit ticktockfool the snare only needs 1 pop but its still really good

  • kawaii! i luv this song!!!!!=)

  • hey i got garage band but how do you make beats not by useing the samples??? message me

  • great song if yu played yurself all u need is lyrics and it wod be complete sounds great though

  • dude this really good and yeah he used the onscreen keyboard for the drums and i think for the beat, you should make more

  • did u use a real keyboard?

  • That snare man! Change it! One pop will do.

  • good, just dont use the snare drum triplet, use just a single snare hit.

  • dude your awesome!great job!

  • ok, id like to see you do that. Have you ever even tried to make anything on garageband?

By the way, great job CharlesP2009. Sounds great

  • PRETTY GOOD

  • that was awesome

  • amazing except your drums need work.

  • ur snare sounds like 2 snare's make 1 and it's almost perfect!

  • damn man

  • Nice but try changing the instrument for the steady beat from a drum to a electronic beat pad of something.

  • woah pritty good i couldnt ever do a remake that good ^^

  • Did you use a midi keyboard or the Garageband music typing or something else?

  • good but the drums need a lot of work. check out my beats. overall this is good

  • wow your comments are every where...Your beats need work

  • yep
