I would like to work at Pixar.. But.. Since Rio came out;

They use Maya to do the modelling and animation and they use their own 'Renderman' to render it, you can too if ou have $995 for the software and a hell of a lot more to buy some serious hardware for rendering. Pixar has a render farm with over 500 cpu's just for rendering, one frame can take more than 90 hours to render. One frame is equal to 1/20th of a second.

Try looking at digital tutors for animation software guides.....Maya is a great tool for animation but the learning curve on animation software is huge. Best advice download the free software called Blender. And look at books or guides online to show you how to use the program..that way you can practice while at school. When you get really good look into 'animation mentor' if you want to be a character animator.

Pixar uses their own proprietary software called Marionette. they provide you with the help to learn it if you become an animator at pixar. all this information is on the pixar website. oh and PIXAR ROX!!! i wanna apply ther when im 18 or over.
