This is coool... I have never seen anything like this and Im 41.. I think its wonderful that the children are able to experience life in a positive manner.. great Job!!
Meredith happens to think that NAIS is a destructive new policy that subverts the very basis of American farming. She just prefers to clap and smile and save her insight for a groundbreaking treatise to be published in 2032.
It's wonderful to watch children experiencing this...it's exactly what I want for my kids. I want them to see these things and always be in awe of the God's world :D
my grandmother have a lot goat sometime see twins baby goat look same color ..neighbor woman had gave birth 5 babies goat it rare see before..rare can be 6 babies not always happen.
hi my goat had two beautiful little boys, my question to you would be what do you think about bottle feeding? I was told if I wanted them to be very tame and friendly this was the route to take. But I was thinking that letting them nurse from their mother and handling and playing with them a lot would do the same. What are your thoughts?
there are two things you can check: 1) for her udder to swell. she will have milk for about 1 month prior, but she should get fuller right before and
2) there are ligaments that run from her tail up her spine (one on each side). If you feel around her backbone, near her tail, you will feel them. When you can't feel them anymore (they are gone) she will give birth within 12 hours.
Congrats to Shadow. I have a Shadow that is expecting. It will be her first kidd. Our umteenth kid.. We have a farm in Tx. with goats/donkeys', cow's.. It is such a true blessing to view and share one of the most precious moments in these creatures little lives.. God is such an awesome God that he instinctively designed these animals to kidd, clean, and nurture them so well. Congrats again to Shadow....
This was Jan 08, & shadow nursed the baby girl I kept until I finally sold her end of NOvember. I have the goats for milk (for ME)....I will bottle baby the next ones! I think she would have let her nurse forever!
Shows what a good mother she is. :) We had a doe that would never wean her kids unless they were sold. Even if we weaned them on the property, as soon as they were back together, it was like nothing had ever changed. We raise meat goats, so we dont do a lot of milking for ourselves, but we have a couple of Nubians that will be milked when they are older, I was raised on goat's milk, its very nutrishous! Shadow is a very good momma goat!
WOW! I'm waiting for my La Mancha doe to kid. due anyday now. She's a first timer so your video was very educational on what to expect when she does go into labor.
Four kids! Wow, that is amazing! And wonderful that they are all ok! My goat just gave birth to triplets but, only two survived. There is NOTHING better than baby goats! :) CONGRATULATIONS SHADOW!
No, it was her 2nd, but her first 4!!! Her babies are STILL nursing! I keep letting them back w/ her just to see, and I don't think she is ever going to ween them!!
down with nais, it's an infringement of our rights, i have nigies and chickens and don't want the government telling me what to do with them, down with foriegn meat also
our dwarf Nubian Pygmy nanny just had twins on Valentines' Day - WHAT FUN they are...but 4 babies? She really outdid herself! Good for you guys, how many were male/female?
I completely agree with you, there. It's not only having our food come from other countries that scares me, though. For awhile now, big Chem. companies have been buying up small seed corporations and PATENTING seeds (started with the ones they genetically modify, but now seems like these big companies want to patent even organic stuff that really doesn't belong to any one person!)..and for what? So they can "own" all our food. That really disturbes me. People have been sharing seeds forEVER.
It is frustrating that people don't see what is happening. Too many people don't pay attention, and if you explain NAIS they don't care b/c they don't farm, (sigh.) Revelations Ch 6 (The seals) first-go out conquering, then killing, the 3rd seal is inflation reguarding FOOD!!
Wow...now I gotta go home and re-read revelations again! I do know how frustrating it is to read the part in the bible that tells us not to concern ourselves with things of the world and rumors of war. I can read this a million times, but how can I NOT be concerned? I know He knows all that is to come (He knew it all ahead of time and it must happen)..but man, it's SO hard to keep my cool about the BAD you see going on!Grrr! I can't just NOT care! (sigh) it's frustrating.
Oh...I think we can care, but not be troubled, we have been warned to recognize the signs, and be prepared! When Jesus prayed in Gethsemane, he was so scared he was sweated blood and asked for the cup to be taken from him. I don't really know what else to do, but read the Bible (I listen on CD) and pray!!! Yes, go read Rev 6!!!!
Ok, that makes me feel a bit better about the whole thing. Here, the past week now, I've been really diggin in the Good Book and had been dismayed about how concerned I've personally been about what's going on in our world; thinking I shouldn't be from what I'd read--I've been so engulfed in digging for all kinds of info. from patents to pdf's from our military that've been released, etc... (especially regarding HAARP technologies, GMO-genetically modified foods...
and how the Chem. companies bought up SO many seed companies years ago & lack of labels)--NAIS and the way it's being sneakily shoved at everyone; and the fact that there are people walking around with these same tracking chips imbedded in them right now (seen that one on the news)..sigh-it goes on and on.Honestly, reading the Bible has been helping to calm me down lately-especially the part letting me know that all these things MUST come to pass. Thanks for the reply; it's real kind of ya.
I'm soo glad to see your explanation is long on NAIS- I am against this and I hope it FAILS miserably. I cannot imagine having to chip my horse. I am angered that people are being forced to register their HOMES into a huge database (making them a dot on the map) under the guise of "safety". I think it's ridiculous and will be more trouble than it's worth. I'm against big agribusiness taking over our nation's food supply completely, and I'm against the special treatment these companies get.
NAIS is an outrage!! I just found out that because of the e-coli scare last summer, the gov't is trying to do "testing" and requirements on soil and produce!! Oh, sure, we'll be so much SAFER when all of our food is shipped in from China!! Just a few companies, owning pir entire food chain, WAKE UP PEOPLE!!
This is coool... I have never seen anything like this and Im 41.. I think its wonderful that the children are able to experience life in a positive manner.. great Job!!

Did you get them for milk? Their milk is AWSOME!!!!
cattleprods911 3 years ago
Correction for my first comment: "You are so great FOR allowing your kids to experience the births".
I have 8 week old triplet sisters. I got them mostly for milk. I'm a soap maker and want to expand my goat milk soap line. I also LOVE cheese. :P
What age do you breed them at? I heard 7 months but I may wait until they're a year.
