The MM strings are pretty cool, but in my opinion you have to play them a bit to break them in. Some strings are great right out the box, but these changed on me after a few days. Funny thing is the change sounded better & got more comfortable. Nice strings; even though I'm partial to DR's these felt & sounded better than average especially for slap bass.

5 strings are typical for metal, and there's only a few bassists who uses slapping in metal style music. Anyways, slapping a 5 string isn't anything different than a 4 string, it's just a wider note-map. :)
