That's okay, pretty much nobody finds this video. I get a few messages a month asking me how to make the bases. Now that YouTube has annotation features, I should put a note on the other video to direct people but I've not remembered to do it yet.
The size of the rounds are whatever you like them to be. <3 It will depend on the size of your flower. You don't want them to be larger than the flower, they're just a support frame and should disappear under the petals. All I can say is experiment, since there's no 'one size only' rule.
@meandrousart I know this reply is to an old post, but anyway in the japanese tsumami kanzashi book i'm using, it generally seems to be this: a round is 1/2cm smaller than the square for the petal, for example a 2cm square calls for a 1.5cm round, making approx a 2.3cm flower. the only exception I've noticed is that the 1cm petals squares go on a 0.7cm base. Also the base size may increase a bit to accomodate double-layered petals (2 layers of fabric for each petal) or multiple flower layers.
Hi Meander, I was thinking for your next Kanzashi video you might make one of how to do one of the more involved frameworks like for the over the top of the head Kanzashi.
That'd be a really good one. <3 I'm still practicing, though. Something like that would be difficult and time consuming, so I'm not sure it's something I could do at this moment, but I'd love to do one, so I'll keep it in mind. Thank you!
XD why yes it is! I was going to make a video, but honestly, you can get the idea just from the photos. That'd be a damn BORING video. XD So slideshow it is!
Your hand-made kanzashi flowers are very, very beautiful. I want to make some!

Thank you. It would be great if you could. I know sometime in your spare moments right? I think your videos are the best for kanzashi making.
