  • ... do you guys make crosby 6 inch 3 chimes?

  • How come when I hear this whistle, I see either a 2-8-0 or a 4-6-0?

  • That's no 6 chime I've ever heard.

  • @HaloCE14 LOL thats true but its sure a coll thought anyhow I just bought 2 whistles today on ebay a CB&Q 5 chime and a GN 5 chime both authentic if I were to consider mounting one of these on my truck it would be one of these from MD whistles not a real one off a real steam locomotive a redneck friend of mine saw me buy a steam locomotive headlight from an antique mall and he asked me when I going to mount it on my truck as a spotlight LOL cool thought again but illegal as hell

  • @gaycowboy31 Quite a few trucks have lights on the top of the cab, though. you could always put it there or you could put it in a protected slot with a lockable roll-out slide to get it out for repairs if you wanted to put it on the side of your car.

  • @HaloCE14 LOL I would love to mount one on my truck this would sound great on there LOL Illegal as hell but still cool thought if you could accive the same sound on compressed air

  • Was that when you were with one of the engineers, testing out the whistle on the Heisler #6? If so I was walking up to the shop when you guys were done because I was hearing a whistle. Nice soundin' whistle!

  • sounds like 487 from CTS

  • great chime !!!!

  • Very sweet whistle!

  • Cass Scenic Railroad

  • Fred Berry Nice fella.....Knows his whistles......

  • fred berry, name doesn't blow a whistle in my mind. even though he lives in jersey.

  • your thinking of Harry Berry. Fred Berry is from VA and he has one hell of a collection of whistles and horns!

  • ah ok,

  • That was Cass Scenic Heisler locomotive #6.

  • where did you find the original?

  • Fred Berry of NJ has one..

  • mike did you build that on plans from New York Central.

  • I got measurements from an original NYC 6 chime..The casting thickness on the original was a lot thicker..I have made over 15 of these. I make several whistles for collectors who dont want to spend a fortune on originals..

  • if they say it is, i take their word on it. and i have some very old NYC recordings a friend of mine gave me. and some of what i hear on those recordings sounds like this. from pacific's to mikados, mohawks. hudson's occasionally had a whistle such as this.

  • Actually that is the first MDWhistle NYC 6 chime I built.. Mike MDWhistles

  • Is it from the New York Central?

  • I love it!!
