Well the footage has been sped up which might be altering your perception. In order to show that it's the fastest you would have to measure the speed, there's no way around that .

im not talking technical, its sort of like the surfers have to go the fastest to make the sections they need to get a good scoring wave. if you look at all the other waves on tour, they're mostly top to bottom whereas this is more down-the-line, yeah i watched it twice it's sped up, couldnt actually tell the first time

It's a fast enough wave already without speeding the footage up, they tend to speed it up in the fast sections so it's hard to pick but makes the boards look much faster than they are.
